The next day all the soldiers were up and ready to continue with their journey but Damian dismissed them, Andronika needed some time to recuperate. After speaking to his soldiers for sometime, he went back to his tent and met Andronika wide awake staring at him.
He walked towards her and she continued staring, when he was finally infront of her. what is the matter, he asked .Nothing I need water, she replied.
Damian walked to the table got a jug and started filling it up with water while studying her face intently, he knew something was wrong but it seems like she didn't want to talk about it.
He handed her the glass of water and she slowly sipped the water like it was wine and Damian had his eyes on her throughout looking at her intently.
Andronika felt his gaze and stared right back at him. Why are you staring at me like that, do I have something on my face, she asked. No, was his short reply.
Well your making me feel uncomfortable, she said. He immediately averted his gaze.
She just shook her head. How are you, he asked. I'm better but I don't think I want to do something like that ever again, at one point I thought I was going to die, she replied.
I would never let you die, he muttered under his breath and the image of her in a pool of blood popped up in his head and he clenched his jaw. Did you say something, she asked.
Never attempt such again, that was dangerous and irresponsible, you could've lost your life out there, Damian said.
Andronika was confused and just stared at the creature before her. He's a very complicated man, he just started scolding her out of the blue, what's his problem.
As if reading her mind Damian immediately said, ' All I'm saying is what you did was irresponsible and if we couldn't defeat the siren with your blood on the dagger, your death would have been in vain '
I just did what I felt was right, Andronika reply bowing her head in embarrassment, because she was being scolded like a child.
It's okay, I'll leave you to rest now, Damian said before turning to leave and Andronika called his name, he turned to look at her and with great hesitance she asked, How is Lucian ?
The question wasn't that much of a suprise to Damian, he knew she was worried about Lucian but he didn't think she would ask him about him. A sharp glint passed through his eyes and disappeared before Andronika could notice it
He's fine, Damian responded before walking out of the room without another word. What are strange creature, Andronika thought.
A few seconds after Damian left the room, Andronika's face fell. She hadn't had the dream of the dragon, man, woman and baby in a while, so why did it come again last night and also seems like a few more seconds were added to the lenght of her dream, it was longer than the previous ones she had .
Later that day
