The brown-skinned youth took a step forward, but with a smile, the black-eyed youth said, "Clearly, we can't hide from professionals."
Calmly, the young man crossed his fingers on Barbosa's desk, saying, "I don't want to hide, captain. It's just for safety. Where is Commander Kojiro?"
Barbosa gently took one of Kojiro's cards out of his coat and placed it on the table. He said, "Kojiro preferred to stay in the Monagas archipelago along with the trinity."
Sliding a letter across the table, Barbosa said, "He asked me to give this to you. He also asked me to answer your questions about the spearman with total honesty."
The prince held the letter and, without looking at Barbosa, said, "I was hoping Kojiro would bring it with him to meet him in person."
The prince put the letter in one of his pockets. While looking up, he said, "But does Kojiro trust him?"
