Reluctantly, he could only return to his office. Everything was too eerie. Regardless of whether anything had happened, he decided to check his own office first. If nothing was amiss, all the better; he would just wait until soldiers appeared and then leave with them.
For some reason, he now felt terrified of the outside world, as if he were a vampire forever hiding in the shadows, most fearful of places bathed in sunlight.
Having returned to his office, he shut the door and casually locked it to prevent any horrific entities from his imagination from breaking in.
Approaching the shelf, he picked up a pack of cigarettes and then sat back down in his office. Bored, he picked up a supply and demand form he had not examined closely before. Just as he did this, he suddenly felt as if many people were around him. This idea made his skin crawl, and the scalp on his head nearly flew off.
