Qiongli, the driver, heard the shouts from behind and looked over, only to spot the Mad Riders. She slammed on the brakes, threw open the door and rushed over. Brother Zhang quickly caught up with her. By the looks of it, it seemed they were indeed dealing with the troublesome Mad Riders.
The Mad Riders didn't structure their forces like a base, instead they spread out across many different points. These points may belong to different factions, but most probably belonged to the same force.
This strategy existed for a reason: if the survivors making their way down the highway were likened to prey, then the Mad Riders were the hunters.
Not every piece of prey would be caught by the hunter; this strategy ensured that even if the runners at one outpost failed to catch up, those at the next outpost could intercept the prey and seize their supplies.
