She held a bag of toys in her hand, which included Barbie dolls, Ultraman figures, baby toys, and a variety of others, for both boys and girls. These were all collected with great difficulty. Among them, the most precious to her was a blue toy car, a final gift from her mother when she starved to death, which she had kept all along.
Gazing at the toy car, she could recall what her mother looked like. She was afraid she might forget her, but it seemed as if her mom's soul had taken residence inside the car.
As usual, she placed all the toys in front of the makeshift window formed by the drainage cover, taking great care to handle them without making any noise.
The toy car had a friction motor; if she rotated the rear wheels clockwise or pulled the car backward for a while, it would drive forward by itself, although only for a short distance.
