After recording everyone's names with flushed faces, two soldiers led the group to the base's gates under the watchful eyes of other soldiers.
Oddly enough, they were not marching as if they were protected, rather they seemed to form two lines surrounding the group, this gave off the impression of them being wary. But what were they being wary of?
Everyone filed into the anti-life detector one by one. The continuous flashing of the red light indicated that none among Tang Ye's group were infected. The sight of the clean streets and buildings within the base, which seemed no different from before the Apocalypse, was a relief. The base was enormous with perfect order maintained and plenty of resources to ensuring their survival. To them, this place was a paradise. Yet, the pressure in their hearts couldn't help but grow, as they constantly felt out of place and worried about being rejected.
