Chereads / Daddy Issues (Kenshin Hide) / Chapter 8 - Camping at the Garden.

Chapter 8 - Camping at the Garden.

Kenshin's P.O.V:

Last night became tiring as the gang played with Lycoon at the playground. I woke up early and I saw Lycoon peacefully sleeping while hugging his bear. I smiled at his cuteness and get off bed quietly so I won't disturb him. I took the diary of his mom on my desk and sat on the rocking chair and opened the last page I read.

Entry 155: I'm sorry baby, mom isn't always around and you have to see how your grandmother pressures me to work hard for us. I'm sorry that you have to see me beaten up, but don't hate grandma for doing it to me. It's all my fault I have never been a good daughter. I'm sorry that she has to bring you to the hospital because you had a fever and I am not beside you. Mommy can't buy you story books right now because I have to pay mom for the bills she made at the hospital. For now, only 10% of my salary will be left for us. That will be just enough for your milk and needs until the next cut-off.

Koko: She's saying sorry like she is being so irresponsible. Why do you even have to suffer this hard hmm? Kitty? My fist is clenching at every word she's writing here. How can she let her mother beat her up and even let her humiliate her? I closed the diary and accompany Lycoon who had just woken up. "Good morning." I greeted him happily and kiss his forehead. "Daddy." He calls for me and reaches out his hand suggesting I carry him so I did.

"Wiwi." He said and it puzzled me for a while. "Oh, you need to go to the restroom?" I scratched my nape as I guess his words. He nodded instantly. "Yesh." He answered me so we went straight to the restroom. After brushing his teeth and doing his morning routine we decided to go out for the grocery and eat Ramen outside.

"Come on let's go now," I told him after I open the door for him to ride in the car. "But we didn't took shower yet." He hesitates. "It's fine my son. We are just going to eat and buy groceries." I explained to him. "But Lycoon is shy. I might smell stinky." He said still hesitant. "Why are you so much like my mom," I whispered to myself. "Okay. I'll take care of that just get in son." I said and he rides the car playing with his fingers. How adorable, but in so many things why does he have to inherit mom's attitude?

I called my secretary right away once I started the engine. "Hello, tell the nearest grocery to close in 15 minutes my son is shy because we haven't taken a shower just yet. I'll buy everything in the grocery store and close it for one hour." I ordered him and do me the favor right away. The receipt pop on the screen. One million is deducted from my account and I signed it. My money didn't even make a move, maybe I have too many sales right now.

Lycoon is looking out the window smiling. Maybe he likes what he is seeing. We arrived at exactly 15 minutes. I saw some people smiling while leaving the grocery, I bought the whole grocery stock so everything will be free for the day. "Let's go now baby," I told him and gets out of the car. I opened the other side of the car to make way for him. "Can we buy some chocowate daddy?" Lycoon asked me making me giggle. "Sure," I answered him and we go hand and hand at the grocery.

"What should we buy the first Lycoon?" I asked him unsure what we need in the kitchen. He looks at me with a questioning look. "I saw mommy she buys mayonnaise and some ketchup." He said and he looks so adorable thinking about what his mommy bought for the house. "Oh and mommy also buys some instant coffee." He remembered and I laugh at his cute action. "Why don't we just buy everything we want?" I suggested to him and he looks at me confused.

He shakes his hand indicating that he disagrees. "That won't save money," Lycoon told me making my eyebrows arched. His mom really teaches him about life at a very young age. I just want him to stay in that shape so I think of a way to convince him that it's okay to buy everything we want right now. "But this grocery is totally free today," I told him in the most natural way I can. He was shocked and his eyes are widen.

"How come it's free?" He asked me. He's such a smart kid. "The owner is very kind to do this for the two lucky shoppers and it happens to be the both of us." I alibi he looks at the place and then look at me. "Did we win a ruffle contest daddy?" He whispered while giggling in excitement. I wanted to laugh but he would suspect me so I came along with his guessing. "Yes. Isn't that amazing?" I also whispered to him and he nodded happily. "So how much time do we have?" He asked me. I think of how many minutes because I'm not prepared. "30 minutes only," I told him.

"Wow, that was long daddy. Let's go now." He said and gets his basket so I stand up. "I know how this woks mommy and I win on a ruffle too." He said and that amaze me. "Come on daddy let's do this befowe we run out of time." Lycoon invites me to come along with him. "Let's stawt by getting all the necessary things like food." He said while walking down an aisle. "What if I get all that we need then you get all you want," I told him and he nodded at my suggestion. "Okay. Let's meet here again daddy." He suggested and I just said yes. I ordered one of the staff to get me anything necessary for a house so I could follow Lycoon.

I look at how cute he is getting all the stuff he can reach. His mom really teaches him what he can eat and what not. He also knows how to sort things on his own. What a great mom she is teaching our son about living. "Daddy I got some biscuits and milk." He said when we meet at the last aisle we parted ways.

"Wow that's great son, let's bring it to the counter?" I ask him. "But I haven't gotten any chocowate yet." He said. "Then let's get another cart for candies," I suggested and he nodded. We happily dig into the aisle of gummies and chocolates. Lycoon grabs some chocolates, gummies, and lots of marshmallows. Maybe he likes it very much especially the choco-coated mallows. We get to the counter and the cashier fixes everything we bought. A staff accompanied us to the car.

"Thank you so much Mistew." Lycoon thanked the staff and bowed at him. How polite? The staff smiles at him. "My pleasure to work with you, sir." The staff told Lycoon and bowed at him. Lycoon then giggled before entering the car. "Thank you, sir." The staff also thanked me. "You're welcome. Open the store now for all the people my son and I are done playing." I ordered him and got inside the car. The staff wave us goodbye as I drove away.

We had breakfast at the nearest Cafe and then got home. As we go home Lycoon excitedly helped me do the choirs. We had a fun time restocking the cereal jars, and the cookie jars up to the refrigerator. After restocking and cleaning all the rest we sit on the counter while eating Oreos. "So what's next," I asked Lycoon whose busy munching his oreo. "Let's camp here daddy. Mommy and I camp inside our room." He gives me an idea. "Sounds fun. Let's camp at the Garden." I told him and he agrees.

"Come on let's get the materials. And built a campfire too." I told him we went to my storage room and got all the necessary things. Lycoon and I built the tent then I teach him how to make the campfire. He was so happy with his new discovery. It was already past lunch so I ordered some food for us. We had fun eating fried chicken outside. It's never been this fun eating here not until Lycoon came into my life. We set up a watching area where we have a beanie couch and blankets. When Lycoon hears something.

"Daddy? Shh." He told me to lower my voice. "What is it?" I whispered. "I am hearing a meow." He said so cutely. And then he walks carefully like an expert. And when we reach a certain spot he meows and then squats. He meows and calls the cat for one more minute and a cute fluff ball cat comes out. He tamed the cat like a pro, that's amazing. "Daddy, can we keep him?" Lycoon asked with pleading eyes. He badly wants the cat and I can't say no to him.

"Will you promise to take care of him at all costs?" I asked him first to make sure that he won't just get the cat because he likes it right now. "Yesh. Pwomise." He said with puppy eyes pleading to get the cat. "Okay. Let's take him." I agreed and he smiles happily. "Thank you, daddy. Wowa won't let me have one on our house." He thanked me. My blood boils again when I heard something about his grandma. I remember what his mom wrote in the diary about his grandma. I put a smile on my face and carry both of them.

"Let's clean him and put him on a basket. Tomorrow let's buy some needs for cats okay? For now, let's continue camping." I suggested to him and he nodded. We go inside the house to clean the cat. I have watched Ryuunosuke how he cleans his cats, so I know how to shower a cat. It was color grey and white. "What are we going to call him," I asked him while I'm drying the cat. "Let's call him, Oreo. Because I like Oreo so much." He said excitedly.

"Okay. His name now is Oreo. Hello! Oreo." I called the cat and it looks at us. He leans on Lycoon and seems like he really likes him.
