Art was regarded as the most common form of expressing one's innermost thoughts. With a history dating back to possibly even earlier than the beginning of civilization, art was one of the few aspects of human life that had been incorporated into the culture of various supernaturals. Even more so for certain races who tended to exist for extended periods of time and experience great events during said time. As far as the vampires were concerned, art was the best representation of the immortal existence that the race was so commonly known by.
