William POV:
Glancing at both Shirou and Saber I finally said, "It's time you know what you both have to do Saber you help rescue the kids while Shirou and I take on the armed men," the two nodded with Saber clenching her hands tightly "I must admit William I've never felt so much as anger as I do now seeing what these despicable people are doing to those poor children," she said making me chuckle.
Saber turns to me with a frown on her face "was there something I said that was jesting William?" she asked in a serious tone in an instant my chuckling stopped as I reached down to pull my grapple gun "nothing like that Saber it just sounds as though you've found a new you congrats," I replied.
Saber froze for a second while Shirou turns to me confused by what I meant I shake my head grabbing Shirou by the waist "hang on tightly brother it's going to be a very rough landing...and remember don't leave any of them alive," I said and before he could he even say anything I shot the grapple gun letting it pull us.
Together using reinforcement, we busted straight into the window thirty armed men twenty of them for me ten for Shirou that should be enough for him to handle on his own.
Almost immediately gun fire rained upon us slamming my foot down I altered the slab of cement underneath me to form into a giant wall that covered us both.
Turning back to Shirou I ask one last time "are you ready?" his golden eyes looked down to his own hands which glowed greenish blue and within his grasps appeared the married twin blades wordlessly he looks back at me with a nod.
Seeing this I decided to put my full trust in him to do what was necessary grabbing the smoke grenade from my belt I tossed it watching as the room was engulfed a field of smoke.
Slowly I closed my eyes drowning out my surroundings I let my mind recall the battle with Lancer. My legs and arms glowed signifying the use of reinforcement when my eye's opened William Emiya was gone in his place was the cold merciless Taskmaster.
Flicking my arm down the hidden blade within my arm extended forward I gripped the blade in reverse grip and then I charged disappearing like a mirage one by one I slaughtered them swiftly like the scum they were.
I turned my head around slowly like a mechanical machine my eyes finally connected to the last grunt who looked at me with shock, horror, and most of all anger "you skull freak bastard those were my friends! You'll pay for that!"
"If you didn't want me to kill your friends you should have thought twice before stepping into my city even more when you decided to traffic children," I calmly replied but the grunt didn't listen instead he roared trying to take a swing at me.
But I already he was going to do that my hand goes down pulling out my contender shooting the man's left kneecap.
The grunt fell to the ground screaming in absolute pain I approached the fallen man each step I took echoed throughout the warehouse. The man looked up seeing me with the contender fully reloaded and ready to fire at his head he gulped with fear in his eyes "j-just what t-t-the hell are you? Some kind of monster?!"
I kneeled down placing the contender directly below the man's chin calmly I spoke "to you and every scum out there I am a monster but who...no what I really am down to the core is justice," I whispered in his ear with a slight pause at the end my finger pulled down the trigger bam he was dead.
Standing back up I reached out toward my mental link with Saber "did you find the kids Saber are they safe?" I questioned.
It took only a few moments before she responded, "yes William, I've found them and escorted them out the building there were only but a few armed people guarding them but I took care of them easily," I nod at that "alright then Shirou and I will meet you back at our place," I replied.
With that I turned back to check back on how Shirou was doing with his half of the grunts and to my surprise and heavy relief he was actually fine aside from a little blood on his face "...didn't think you had it in you Shirou," I said walking towards him.
Shirou gulped looking away from my gaze his skin was quite pale while his hands shook "I-I didn't think I had i-it in me ei-either," he replied with a tone of shock as if he had just woken up from a dream.
Seeing his distress, I pulled him in a hug trying to calm him down "hey it's going to be alright calm down Shirou you didn't do anything wrong...you did a good deed you helped put down those evil sons of bitches that were trafficking those poor kids so don't you feel guilty about taking their lives,"
My words seemed to work as the trembling in his hands stopped and his body relaxed "I am going to need a long nap after this," he replied I pat him on the back pulling myself away from the hug "whatever you need I'll be there now come one let's go before the cops get here and Saber gets mad at us for being late," I said.
We were about to leave when the sound of a gun being cocked echoed "you're not going anywhere freaks!" turning around we saw a man in a business suit, he had a very bald head, and sported a bushy mustache in his hand was a glock 17 pressed directly at a red headed hair girl.
"I read up on you Tasky don't know about that other fella over there, but I know how much you love saving people," he said while the girl in his grip cried tears streamed heavily "p-please help me Mister Taskmaster I-I really don't want to die please save me," she begged all the while Shirou and I stood.
The man shouted at her "shut up brat!" which made her flinch a familiar feeling of rage began to spark in my chest "look you don't want to do this," I said addressing the other man who started laughing "ah but you see Tasky I do want to do this you costed me a lot of money so I think I will...unless you take your gun and kill yourself along with your little sidekick over there then I'll let the kid go sound good?" he offered.
'Trigger on' I mentally chanted feeling my mana course through my nerves I took my reloaded contender lifting it slowly Shirou looked at me with widen eyes, but I showed him a subtle sign from my other hand to signal that I wasn't going to do what he said.
Instead, I looked at the kid "hey kid what's your name?" I asked gently ignoring the other man's shout slowly she whimpered "G-gudako Fujimaru sir," I nod "that's a beautiful name you've got now can you do me a favor?" I replied she nodded her head hesitantly "I need you to close your eyes no matter what you hear you must never open them until I tell you to...can you do that for me Gudako," I instructed with a soft tone.
She closes her eyes all the while the mustached man gets ready to shoot her head off "Time Alter: Double Accel," I chanted my perception of the world slowed down while the speed at which I moved at increased by two times.
"Bullet Accel!" I chant once more firing the contender right at the man's forehead the bullet escaped at twice its normal speed ending the man's life faster than he could pull the trigger to his own glock 17.
Gudako tries to open her eyes to see what happened, but I was quick to stop her placing my hand over her eye's "it's alright your safe Gudako don't worry I'll let you see when we get out of here okay," I said lifting her up in my arms "Shirou I'll meet you and Saber back at the house I need to get the kid out some where safe," although reluctant Shirou nodded and ran out the warehouse.
I followed soon afterwards only instead of going home I took her the nearby an alley way which led towards the street where the police cars were parked at "alright Gudako you can open your eyes now," I said.
Gudako opened her eyes with a slight flutter she took a look around us noticing the cop cars across from us "go to them tell them everything and they'll take care of the rest okay kid," I instructed one final time before turning to leave.
"Wait Mister Taskmaster!" she called out which made me pause I turned back giving her a glance "ca-can you at least let me know the real name of the hero who saved me?" she asked with a hopeful tone.
Turning fully back to the kid I kneeled down to her eye level patting her head softly "it's not who I am underneath but what I do that defines me kid...it doesn't matter whether you know my name or face," I replied lifting my hand away from her head.
Before Gudako even knew it I had pulled my grapple gun and fired away ziplining away from the alley disappearing into night unbeknownst to me though the girl I had saved would be one I would come to know again in the near future but that's a story for another time.
-end of chapter eighteen-
Alright here you go chapter eighteen everyone with a little bit of foreshadowing set up for an FGO sequel that I might make in the near future.
Today's chapter was inspired a lot by me listening to the song Memory Reboot on loop and watching clips of the Dark Knight.
Tomorrow or the day after I'll be going back in to do some editing on some old chapters and update them.
Anyway, that's all I have to say I am going to sleep now since it's like 1:37am right now so see ya.
