Chapter 17 - The Prequel to The Hero of Justice #1

A/N: A prequel before the cannon of my fic started just for you all to get a deep depth to my character

William POV

It's been about two years since dad died leaving Shirou and I behind two years since that old man Zelretch had given me his will I thought, staring at the open suitcase containing the contender and bullets.

I grabbed the gun slowly loading it with a normal bullet round before flicking the barrel up locking the bullet inside.

The words echo through my mind "we'll become heroes of justice for you," I had the tools and training to become a hero, but the question now was how does one start that path I thought thumbing the handle of the gun.

I stood up placing the contender within the inner pockets of my hoodie alongside the combat knife that had also been placed in the suitcase.

Hero's saved and helped people out right so then that's where I should start the city of course I thought walking out from the back shed Shirou is asleep right now so I should be able to patrol the city without trouble.

My circuits spark to life before I cast reinforcement on my legs and started roof hopping without any direction in mind.

This mindless search of mine continued for a while with no sight of anyone needing to be helped or saved so far until "ahhhh someone please help me!" came the scream of a woman I turned my attention to where the shout was heard.

There, nearby in the alley I thought narrowing my eyes seeing a woman being held against the wall by a thin looking thug who was about to open her suit.

"Time Alter: Double Accel!" I chanted as my body grew hot while my heartbeat increased with reinforcement still activated, I jumped down dashing towards the alley and tackled the man far away from the woman all at once.

I release my time alter state my breathing slows, while my pupils dilated, my heart which had been beating fast had slowed back down to its normal time flow in accordance with Gaia's law.

I breathed in deeply watching the man that I had tackled rise back with a grumble "what the fuck hit me?" he questioned out loud until his eyes landed on me "hey who the fuck do you think you are interrupting my fun you little shit!" he snarled, making me spit on the ground in disgust.

He was about to do the most inconceivable thing to that poor woman and yet he dared to call that fun.

The man charges at me I remain calm bouncing on the balls of my feet waiting for him to strike when he does, I dodged which made him stumble I gave him no time to recover proceeding to unleash a fast combo of punches.

My punches were swift and strong one final punch to his forehead was enough to knock him out. Got to thank my boxing teacher for showing me that one I thought with a smile as I turned back to check on the still panicking lady behind me.

"It's alright lady your safe," I reassured raising my hands to calm her down she glances at the knocked-out man before giving me a meekly nod "th-thank you very much if you hadn't come, I don't know what that creep would have done," a hidden smile makes it way on my hood covered face, so this is what it's like to have helped someone.

I bow my head "it's no problem, ma'am just doing what any normal person would do really," I replied which caused the lady to sigh "you would think that but not everyone would so happily risk their lives trying to save someone," she muttered underneath her breath.

I frowned, not quite understanding but pretended I hadn't heard her. It wouldn't be until many years later though that I would come to understand what she meant.

"You should probably call the cops before he wakes up," the lady's eyes widened as she hurriedly reached for her phone before she paused "can I at least ask who you are?" she questioned.

I raised a brow, obviously I couldn't really tell her my real name so a nickname would have to do my mind wondered to a particular memory back when Shirou and I were still settling in the Emiya household.

"Geez you really need to slow down William you don't need to overwork yourself in cleaning around the place" Kiritsugu said with a chuckle I pouted turning my head to the side.

"It's not my fault I just like the place to be clean and tidy that's all," I muttered making the man sigh he puts his hand on my head ruffling it "I swear you're like a taskmaster William but even a taskmaster needs to slow down otherwise you'll pass out from exhaustion like you did now,"

I put an end to the memory "Taskmaster…call me Taskmaster," I finally replied to the woman's question she raises a brow at the name but nods.

I waited with her until after she was done from her phone call but when she turned back from her phone call with the cops, I was gone from her sight making her look around bewilderedly.

Maybe helping and saving others wasn't too bad it felt good to have saved someone, maybe being a hero wasn't such a bad thing.

-end of the prequel chapter one-

There will be a couple of prequel chapters before we head back into the main story just saying now. MC hasn't developed the ten second release at this particular time yet because it's only been two years since he's originally started learning mage craft with his main focus so far being on Reinforcement and Alteration instead of Time Alter at this current time period.

As you can all see right now MC is taking on the Shirou path of saving everyone like how I originally had in mind until he experiences something that changes his whole entire belief in his ideal.
