William POV
A few years had passed since the day Kiritsugu had adopted Shirou and I. Currently I found myself waking up from another recurring nightmare of the fire that had changed my life. My heart raced as I sat up in bed, trying to shake off the haunting images. I decided to get some water from the kitchen to help calm my nerves.
My magecraft training had progressed significantly since the day Shirou and I first started alteration and reinforcement became my main signature moves while Shirou had made projection his main move however to mine and Kiritsugu's surprise he actually managed to evolve his projection into what he call's tracing.
Shirou tried teaching me, but it never really matched with me so I just stuck with what I was good at to the point where I could alter anything into my desire but depending on how complex the thing, I am altering is the harder it is to shift it. Reinforcement I am able to instantly cast on any item but doing so on my current body would be dangerous according to Kiritsugu so he made me wait.
We also discovered that I had an incredible photographic memory down to the point where I could imitate someone which was how I was able to remember the words from that cookbook Shirou had shown me all those years back.
So Kiritsugu had taken more of his time teaching me all sorts of things like firearms and knife wielding he had also revealed his origin bullets to me bullets that were made from his dual origin severing and binding. It was rare that one ever had a dual origin according to him Shirou had a sword origin while my own origin was that of the mind.
After all that time Kiritsugu had gone on a country trip while introducing us to our babysitter meet Taiga Fujimaru Shirou and I's self-proclaimed elder sister and the local free loader of our home. Oh, did I forget to mention that's she's also the daughter of one Raiga Fujimaru a local yakuza boss who had declared us as his proclaimed grandson's.
When Kiritsugu came back from his trip he looked different like he was defeated I was the only one who had noticed Shirou and Fuji-nee had just thought he was being his normal self. I did my best to cheer him up like showing him my progress in alteration or the improvement of his signature time alter that I had received from his magic crest.
The man smiled gently but I could always still see that same look through his broken black eyes I thought putting the glass of water down in the sink and was about to head back to my room when I saw both Shirou and Kiritsugu just sitting outside looking at the moon.
I went ahead outside and joined them sitting on Kiritsugu's left side "You know you guys might catch a cold if you stay here too long," I said making both Kiritsugu and Shirou chuckle "I know Shirou told me that exact same thing," Kiritsugu replied his gaze still at the moon.
For a moment all was silent until Kiritsugu spoke breaking the silence "You know when I was little, I wanted to be a champion of justice," Shirou asked with curiosity "you wanted to become one?" and then I further asked, "did you give up?"
Kiritsugu shook his head "yeah," he muttered reaching into his chest pocket pulling out his signature cigarette and lighter. He puts the cigarette in his mouth and tries to light up his lighter, but his fingers kept trembling, so I took the lighter out of his hand and ignited it up for him he leaned down letting the bottom part of the cigarette burn.
He exhaled the smoke "it's unfortunate really, but...being a hero is a limited time thing. When you grow up it becomes hard to call yourself one," he said making me frown "that's not true I still think your a hero you saved us after all I can't think of anyone else there that would have," I said while Shirou voiced out a loud "yeah!" in agreement.
Kiritsugu's eyes widen as he looked at the two of us "besides since you couldn't do it, we'll do it for you," I said "you're an adult now, so you can't do it, but we can so just leave it to us!" said Shirou with a wide grin.
Kiritsugu looked back up at the moon his black eyes glistening before he slowly closed his eyes leaning back against the wooden porch "then...I am glad Shirou...Will," he said his body losing all tension in them the cigarette slowly dropped out of his mouth rolling away.
Shirou and I looked at each other "did he fall asleep?" Shirou questioned I shrugged and went to wake him up but no matter how many times I tried to wake him up he wouldn't I started panicking I shouted, "Shirou call Raiga-jisan tell him it's an emergency quickly!" Shirou quickly got up following my demand.
I placed my fingers on his neck trying to see if there was pulse, but I couldn't feel anything "Oi oi! This isn't funny wake up Kiritsugu...DAD!!" I shouted with desperation I placed my hands on his chest trying to jumpstart his heart but no matter what I did he didn't wake up.
My hands trembled as I hugged my dad's cooling body against myself and for the first time I cried "Ahhhhhhhhh!!!" the sounds of multiple footsteps registered themselves through my ears, but I didn't care I couldn't focus on anything except for my dad.
I could feel multiple pairs of hands wrapping themselves around me trying to drag me away from his body "Noooo let me go!!!" I shouted.
After that Raiga-jisan had taken Kiritsugu's body while Fuji-nee had comforted both Shirou and me. The funeral took place the next day the only people there were Raiga-jisan, Fuji-nee, an old man with a red jeweled cane, Shirou, and I.
I didn't make a sound until the funeral ended Shirou and I were the only one's there still looking at dad's grave I looked up at the sky my hand trembled "Ne...Shirou it's truly a terrible day for rain, isn't it?" I said making Shirou look at me "what are you talking-" Shirou paused midway seeing the silent tears that rolled down my cheeks.
He sighed and gently hugged me sideways "yeah it is..." he said and for the next few moments we stood like this until Shirou spoke once more "I'll be waiting in the car with Fuji-nee," he said leaving from my side once he was gone, I pulled something out from pocket.
"You know I never understood why you always smoked these dad.." I said with a trailed off look I pulled out a cigarette putting it in my mouth and lit it up with the same lighter Kiritsugu had been using I coughed choking on the smoke and then I tried again inhaling slowly before releasing a puff "I'll fulfill my promise...your dream of a hero of justice will come true." I said my eyes narrowing sharply.
Taking the cigarette out of my mouth I placed it on top of his tombstone the smoke danced in the air with a rhythmic tone slowly I turned and left. I was about halfway through the cemetery reaching to where Fuji-nee and Shirou were waiting when I was stopped by that same old man that I saw during the funeral "greetings you must be William Emiya," said the old man I coldly replied, "who wants to know?"
The man chuckled "like father like son I suppose but if you must know I am a friend of your father's my name is...Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg but you can just call me Zelretch," he said introducing himself at the end with a mischievous smile that left me feeling uneasy "well what do you want old man?" I asked.
His face shifted to a much more solemn expression "ah yes your father has left his will to me along with this..." he said giving me a silver suitcase along with a letter "he's asked that I give them to you in case he ever passed," he explained.
I took the letter placing it in my pocket to read at later time opening the case my eyes widen "these are..." I trailed off still in shock Zelretch nodded "your father's thompson contender along with one hundred origin bullets created from your father's body I would suggest reading that letter when you have the time," he explained I wanted to ask more questions but when I looked up, he was gone.
-end of chapter four-
So here it is chapter four hope you all enjoyed I'll be working on the next two chapters and releasing them as soon as I can today...just as soon as I refill my coffee cup. By the way I was listening to a lot of depressing anime music while I was typing this so and this chapter got me a little teary eyed.
Also, William has a different definition of being a hero of justice instead of trying to save everyone in front of him he wants to protect and save everyone that is close to him to the point where he will eliminate the threat before it can even strike.
