'So I finally made my first friend... Feels good!'
Mason ran in so fast he didn't even notice that he wasn't the only one in the room.
''What's up with you? Did you get into your usual trouble again?'' Remi asked.
'What do you mean, usual trouble. It's not as if I enjoy being the centre of attention.' Mason retorted in his mind.
''I actually made a friend just now, but I accidentally offended some nobles at the same time...' He said.
Remi just nodded as she knew this wouldn't be the last time this would happen.
Mason decided to ignore her for a bit as he sat on his bed.
He opened his Status again since he didn't know what to do, and he thought this would be a good time to search around and look for potential hidden gems in the Shop.
After he asked the System to open the Shop, a hologram appeared before his eyes.
[Shop]
[System Points: 7400]
[What do you wish to buy, Host?]
'Hmm, I don't really know. Could you show me a list of everything I can afford.'
The System immediately had the list ready as mason started scrolling.
[Small Beast Cage: 3500 System Points]
[Red Bean Soup: 3 System Points]
[Noble Cutlery Set: 1500 System Points]
'Damn, this is all useless stuff! Why would I need a noble cutlery set!?' He thought to himself.
'Please make it so the list goes from expensive to least expensive. Also make sure to only implement things I can use in combat.'
[Recalculating List]
[Bomb Trap: 7400 System Points]
[Fire Spell, Fireball: 7250 System Points. *Warning* Fire Affinity needed]
[Swift Boots: 7200 System Points]
Mason scrolled through the long list and saw many items, he stopped to read the info on some items.
[Swift Boots: Increases Movement speed by 5%]
Mason liked these boots a lot, but he found their price to be too expensive.
'I can nearly buy a Premium Spin, the reward last time was insanely good. It's 10x better than what I can buy in the shop right now.'
Mason decided he would be saving his points for another occasion, he didn't leave the shop just yet. He still had something he wanted to check.
'Please show me how expensive a Mana Flower is.'
[Mana Flower: 50 000 System Points]
Mason was shocked, he hadn't yet been able to test out his limits after he absorbed the Mana Flower. But he must've gotten even stronger than he had thought at first.
'The Headmaster really blessed us, didn't he?' He thought as he made up his mind to thank the Headmaster once again when he saw him next time.
After he finished checking out the Shop, it was already pretty late. He decided he would be going to bed early for the first time in a while.
''I'm going to sleep, don't be too loud Remi'' Mason said as he closed his eyes.
''I'm never loud! Just close your eyes and shut up!'' The girl retorted.
Mason smiled slightly as he dozed off.
*beep* *beep* *beep*
Mason woke up to the sound of his alarm, he hadn't had this alarm for a while but he had already started to hate its annoying sound.
He turned it off as he lazily got out of bed, it was still early.
Mason wanted to train before classed today, so he went outside to the training fields and he started doing some exercises.
He started by running some laps around the field, if you could even say some.
'I want to run 100 laps today, I'll prove to everybody I'm not as lazy as they all think I am.'
And so Mason started running his laps, the field wasn't small, so it would be taking a while.
'Why is it so crowded so early in the morning? Is this actually a thing people do every day?' Mason asked himself.
'Nah, there's no way right. Nobody is crazy enough to wake up before sunrise every morning.'
He kept running and running for an hour when he finally got to his 74th lap.
''Working hard, Mason?'' Someone asked.
Mason looked to his left and he saw Hans Larsson, his new friend.
''Yeah man, I thought I should start trying my best from now on. It's actually less boring to run than I thought it would be.''
''Of course it is, it helps me calm down before class starts. Even if we're Mages, we should also be able to run away or even fight back if we aren't able to use magic.'' Hans was of the same opinion as him.
A lot of expert Mages thought it wasn't necessary to train their bodies, if they couldn't win relying on magic. They didn't train magic well enough.
Mason thought that was a load of nonsense.
'Why would I want to die if I could save myself by training three hours a day extra?'
Hans and Mason ran together for the rest of his 27 laps.
''Alright, finally got to a hundred laps. I'm stopping now, I will be taking a quick shower before class starts. I'll see you there.'' Mason said his goodbyes for now as he walked back to his dorm room.
After arriving he noticed Remi had already left for breakfast.
'I should hurry up, I'm pretty hungry too after all that exercise.'
Mason took a quick shower and he hurriedly ran to the cafeteria, completing 100 laps took longer than he thought it would be taking and he would be late if he didn't hurry up.
For some reason he felt a lot of people were staring at him, he had a good guess why.
'Let's just hope nobody is dumb enough to attack me when I'm eating, they're nobles... They should have some morality, right?'
Just as Mason started chomping down on his food, he sensed somebody approaching.
''...''
''Why do I always jinx myself like this?'' Mason said out loud.
''Mason White, right?'' The guy behind him said.
''The one and only.'' Mason turned around and said with a mocking voice.
The guy who came to confront him clearly didn't like his reaction as he started to get frustrated.
''Do you know who I am? I'm Ren-
''I don't know, and I don't care. Please keep it to yourself. Also, don't report me to your mommy or daddy.'' Mason said as he started making his way to the exit.
Just as he arrived at the exit, he turned around just to see the guy dashing at him with his fist ready to be shoved into his face.
'God damn it.'
