Lucas was fast in his smaller form and now that he had the room to move he was all over the place while fighting the goblins. In no time he had the remaining goblins from the first group slaughtered.
Although he didn't want to resort to it he was forced to use his teeth. Which meant getting that god awful blood in his mouth. It tasted almost as bad as they smelled.
The other group was now upon him but he still had the hobgoblin left. It was just over 5ft tall with yellowish green skin. Unlike the goblins its skin was smoother, They had the same yellow pupils with black eyes.
Lucas lunged at the hobgoblin with his free hand. It dodged but stumbled in the process seeing an opening Lucas pressed forward. Swinging his sword at the hob. The hobgoblin raised its rusted sword to block but due to its poor maintenance it snapped in half. Lucas forced his sword forward forcing the blade through its collarbone slicing through its torso.
Sensing danger he dodged in time to see a woodcutter's ax chop into the hob. It would have been him had he not reacted quick enough. He then turned and sliced towards the goblin using the ax but before he could finish the bow he saw a spear headed towards so he was forced to step back.
"You ugly bastards are lucky you're in this cave. If we were in an open area you would all be slaughtered by now." Lucas yelled beginning to get tired of this game he was forced to play with these pests.
"Small Pup Talks too much let's eat" Once again the goblins took up the eat chant much to Lucas' dismay.
"Fine have it your way" Lucas then began to attack again with much more ferocity than previously.
He dodged their attacks and weaved through. All the while stabbing, ripping and shredding them with whatever he had open. The goblins were beginning to get scared if not for the two hobgoblins they would have already fled.
Soon the hobgoblins made their move and without care for the smaller goblins they began to force their way towards Lucas.
Lucas noticed this and began to make his way towards the first hobgoblin. Once there he threw one of the goblins at the hob. The hob swung his club and smacked the goblin into the cave wall.
Lucas pushed forward but right before his sword could connect he was stabbed from a smaller goblin crouching below the hob. He grunted in pain. Due to his high constitution it didn't make it very deep but still it wasn't a pleasant feeling. He hopped back then tried again doing the same routine as last time except he threw two goblins one after the other towards the hobgoblins. Unfortunately the hobgoblin just knocked it to the side. Nevertheless he pushed on and once close enough he swung his sword towards the hob. It was a feint and once he noticed the dagger wielding goblin lashing out he grabbed it with his free hand and buried his muzzle on its throat. With a crunch from the spine breaking it died.
Pushing forward he then began to fight the hobgoblin with quick movements he had ripped its chest open with his free hand. Followed up by several light attacks with his sword. Before he could finish it off the other hob grew impatient with the other hob and shoved it forward. The wounded one fell to the ground no longer having the strength to stand. It wasn't dead yet though. The uninjured one stepped forward over its fallen comrade and began to attack Lucas using a short ax.
Lucas could tell he was beginning to tire, sure he was stronger than the goblins but he had been fighting them nonstop for hours. With no other choice he pushed on.
The hob charged at Lucas who dodged by jumping over it and sliced its back. He went to follow up with another sluice from his sword when he felt an ax bury in his left thigh just below his precious.
"Roar," Lucas enraged, roared before charging towards them once again, reenergized by his anger he soon slaughtered the remaining hob and goblins.
He rested his head on his sword panting. He had been at it since morning. He wasn't sure of the time but he was sure it was late. He heard a commotion and saw more goblins as well as the injured hob from earlier making its way towards him.
The goblins screamed at him in excitement before they rushed at him. Lucas, beginning to run out of stamina, was forced to return to his base form. He managed to kill the remaining hob before that.
Panting and out of breath the goblins swarmed him. He felt a knife stab his side. Then another slashed his back while another grazed his head. With no energy left he soon fell by their sheer numbers. He continued to feel several different weapons pierce his skin all over the place. Before the goblins could finish him off, one wearing a robe stepped forward and stopped them. He heard them muttering something in their language before he blacked out.
Troy shouted "We have to move faster". Soon after they came around a corner to find a slaughter of goblins. There were hundreds of corpses and several hobgoblins. Lucas hadn't realized in his fight how many there truly were.
"What happened here?" Hannah asked
Troy stopped a laugh before saying "It was Lucas no other person could have done this by themselves."
"There's no way nobody could fight them for this long and kill this many solo." Hannah said in disbelief. Troy and Sasha knew Lucas though so they knew this was from him.
"Look over there!" Sasha pointed towards a sword planted in the ground surrounded by a pool of blood. Troy quickly moved past the others and dipped his finger in the blood and smelled. "It's hard to tell with the stench of goblins but this is Lucas' blood."
Sasha spoke up first "So where is Lucas then?"
Hannah "He's dead has to be I mean him killing this many is already impressive but lets face it he's dead."
Troy, tired of this girl, looked at her and released his killing intent "One more word from you and you will be dead".
Hannah laughed it off "You didn't seriously threaten a noble did you. You are seriously stupid. If yo lay on the round and beg I'll let you live as my slave".
Troy hearing slave jumped at her but was stopped by Sasha. "Troy calm down, he's still alive when goblins have been one to take bodies."
Hannah spoke up "They do take them to eat though"
Sasha shook her head "They would have dismembered him here instead easier for them to move through the caves that way."
Troy spoke up "So why keep him he's not a female so their is no value in keeping him alive."
"I don't know Troy but we need to hurry." Sasha said
Troy nodded his head and the two prepared to set off.
"I will go no further so bring me back to the exit. Besides, it will be getting dark soon and you know they get more active at night as well as more dangerous monsters coming out to hunt." Hannah said
Troy and Sasha both looked at one another, nodded and then left following Lucas' trail of blood. Sasha turned her head around and spoke "Then leave. But we are not leaving until we get Lucas.
Meanwhile Liz had just entered the white estate for dinner. It had become a habit of hers to eat with Lucas, Troy and Sasha when she didn't have other plans but to her surprise they weren't home from school yet. After asking several of the staff she soon found Gregor outside by the stables lazing about in a pile of hay.
"Gregor will you go check on Lucas I have this horrible feeling"
Gregor looked up groggily from his nap "What is Fenrir's breath for?"
"The first years had their dungeon diving assignment today and his group is the only that hasn't returned"
Gregor laughed "That battle junky is probably just lost in having fun killing some goblins he's done that before in that dungeon you know"
"If you go check on him I'll give you one of my fathers bottles of liquor."
With the mention of Alcohol his personality changed "You're probably right Miss Amoux he could be in some serious trouble. I should get going better safe than sorry you know"
In the blink of an eye he was gone headed for the dungeon.
