"RO, Roselina! I didn't see you there,"
Dexter's shuddered, his mood changed as he looked at me. "My, how magnificent and beautiful you look under—"
I raised my hand to stop him.
"Spare me your cheap flattery, Dexter. I'm not buying it."
I turned my gaze to Bradley. This dude took quite the beating.
"I've taken care of this pest for you. He won't trouble you again," Dexter said.
"Roselina, is this what you wanted?"
Elle asked.
"I thought you were kind, but it seems I was wrong."
"BE QUIET!" I shouted, and everyone went silent. I jumped from the top of the fountain and walked up to Bradley. "Tell me, why would you go so far for me?"
"Because you're my friend... And I don't want to see you get hurt," Bradley stated.
I looked at him and gave a pleasing smile.
"You would go so far for me? You're a foolish man."
I took a step back.
"You almost ruined my birthday party, and I have to get rid of any nuisance,"
I stated.
"No, Roselina, you can't. Bradley didn't do anything," Rachael said.
"I agree, Roselina,".Dexter said as he walked up beside me.
"Today is a special day for you. Why let a bunch of common people ruin it for you?"
I turned around to Dexter with a smile.
"You're right. Today is my birthday after all. We can't allow it to be ruined, right?"
"Indeed. I shall take care of them for you."
"Don't worry, I'll do it myself."
Out of nowhere, I kicked Dexter in the balls. The brute even bit his tongue. He fell to the ground, holding his testicles.
Bradley and the others were surprised.
"Damn fool! I was talking about you,"
I kicked Dexter in the stomach.
"First, you recited that boring poem, then you have the nerve to give me that poor imitation of a piano. 'Valmiere' my ass! And worst of all, it's already bad that I don't like piano, and now you have the nerve to speak my name and my sister's name in your filthy, disgusting mouth. I'm so pissed off I could kill you!" I sneered as I looked at Dexter with my killing intent. "But I won't. I have something better in mind. Hey, you!"
I called out to Dexter's friends.
"I want you to beat up this guy for me,"
I said.
They looked worried.
"Don't worry. I'll pay you triple the amount, and I'll pay you a bonus if you ruin his reputation in the most proficient way imaginable," I proposed.
The six guys looked at each other and smiled. The greed was leaking out as they approached Dexter.
"No, stay away! I'm your boss. Do what I say!"
He was dragged away and beaten up.
I turned to Bradley.
"You didn't have to go that far," he said.
"Yeah, I know what he did was bad, but he didn't deserve this,".said Elle.
"Oh, shut up! It's that same attitude that got you into this predicament in the first place. Are you saying I should have let him off with a slap on the wrist?" I pointed my finger at Bradley. "What if he came after you again? What then? Don't think I'll be there to save your sorry asses."
I am fuming with anger.
"Okay, I get it, but still, why did you go that far for me?" Bradley asked.
"I didn't do this for you. I did it to quell my guilty conscience," I leaned over to him.
"I don't dislike boys, but having them fawn over me makes my skin shiver. So the next time you tell me that you like me... be prepared for a punch to the face."
Bradley looked at me in silence.
"I understand. Can we be friends though?"
"No."
He felt disappointed.
"But we can be schoolmates," I said with a smile.
"I'm fine with that."
"Good. Now let's go. I need your guys' help in dumping that piano in the trash. I can't believe the guy gave me a fake piano!"
.....
And so, Roselina left and returned to the party. It went all night until morning the next day, with everyone going home with full stomachs and smiles on their faces.
The party received great reviews because they all had the best time of their lives.
Well, except for one person.
Dexter was beaten up by his minions, and he was tied to a pole in the park naked, with a cardboard tied to his chest that said:
[I'm A Cheat and I'm a Fraud and I Like Stealing Women's Dirty Laundry, Your Truly, Dexter the Pervert]
People who saw him started taking pictures of him and his... well, you know.
A girl was passing by with her mother, pointing at him.
"Mom, look! It's a naked man and his tiny..."
The mother quickly covered her daughter's mouth.
"Now, now, it's rude to point. Let's go."
The mother quickly dragged away her daughter.
Dexter was fuming with anger.
"Roselina, you will pay! I'll make you pay for what you've done!" Dexter declared, and suddenly, a pigeon pooped on his head.
"Hey!" He shouted, and another pigeon pooped on his head.
Dexter looked at the pigeons who casually shook their rumps at him with mischievous grins on their beaks.
"DAMN... YOU, ROOSELINAAAAAAAA!"
Dexter shouted.
Roselina woke up from her sleep and sneezed."Achoo! Strange. Did I catch a cold?"
She returned to sleep.
I woke up and yawned.
I glanced at the time—it was 2 PM. I had slept through both breakfast and lunch.
"Hahahaha."
"Hmph."
There was laughter downstairs and the sound of a helicopter circling our house. I went downstairs in my bear suit pajamas and found two people standing guard at the living room door.
"Hey, who are you two?" I asked.
"Never mind, let me through."
They looked at me, then exchanged a glance.
"Do I need your permission to move about in my own house?" I demanded. "I said let me through."
I walked into the living room.
Kelly was there, talking to an old lady who looked strangely familiar.
"Oh, good morning," Kelly greeted me.
"Oh, is that her? My, she looks adorable," the old lady said.
I sat beside Kelly and asked, "Who is this old lady?"
"This is the Queen of England," Kelly replied.
"THE... THE QUEEN... WHAAAAAT?!" I exclaimed, shocked, realizing this person was the Queen of England. It all made sense now, especially with the extra security around.
"Hey, why is she here?" I whispered to Kelly.
"Didn't I tell you? The Queen and I are very close friends."
Well, that certainly explained a lot.
"You must be Roselina. You're more beautiful than I imagined."
"Thank you, Your Majesty. I'm sorry I look so... tardy."
"It's okay," she said with a laugh.
She seemed to be a nice old lady.
"Kelly, is this the one you've been waiting for?" I asked.
"Yes, she's my mistress," Kelly replied.
What the hell did Kelly just say?
"I see. So you're Kelly's master, the true vampire," the Queen said.
At that moment, everything went silent.
Seconds later, I found myself on the table, holding my scythe to the Queen's throat, leaking intent to kill.
"How do you know who I am? Spill it, human!" I demanded.
"No, mistress, wait!" Kelly said.
"She already knows," I replied, putting my scythe away and sitting down.
Two security guards came in and asked if everything was alright. The Queen responded, "Yes, now leave us be."
The guards left and closed the door behind them. I turned to Kelly.
"Kelly, mind explaining?"
Kelly began her explanation. It all started 70 years ago when the Queen was still a child. Queen Elizabeth II loved sneaking out of the palace to explore on her own. She found peace and happiness in the forest.
One day, while she was in a stroller near the castle, Elizabeth rolled too close to a cliff and fell off. The one who saved her was none other than Kelly.
At first, the Queen was frightened, but when she saw Kelly's face, she didn't sense any hate—only sorrow, regret, loneliness, and heartbreak.
The Queen took a liking to Kelly and would visit her every day. Over time, they became good friends, just like Regina and I. Kelly eventually told Elizabeth the truth—that she was a vampire who had lost her master and her sister, and now wandered the earth alone.
The Queen didn't reject her story. Instead, she accepted it with a smile. The two remained friends to this day. Whenever Elizabeth got sick, Kelly would heal her body to perfect health.
"Hearing her story, the gift came over me again."
"I'm sorry I made you wait so long, Kelly," I apologized.
"It's okay, mistress. As long as you're here now."
"And I'm sorry, Your Majesty. I guess I jumped the gun."
"It's okay. I understand your fear. So tell me, what are your plans for this world?"
The Queen looked at me with a serious gaze.
"Honestly, nothing. All I want is to live my life comfortably with Kelly and the others. We may be monsters, but we would never harm an innocent human. I swear on my name," I stated.
The Queen fell silent, then smiled again.
"That's the answer I was hoping for. Kelly, she's just as adorable and sweet as you said."
"I told you, she's my pride and joy and everything I live for," Kelly said, looking at me.
I blushed and looked away.
"Please, stop saying such nonsense," I muttered.
The two of them laughed at me.
"I heard you had a birthday party for your 628th birthday."
"It's my 629th birthday, and yes."
"Good, good. Here is a gift."
She handed me a small antique box, and inside it was a medal. I was confused.
"This is a medal given to those who are heroes, who have done great wonders for our country. What you've done—fighting with your life on the line to protect this world—this medal may be small, but please accept it," she said.
"Fufufu, I shall," I replied.
I closed the box. She's a nice lady, but I sensed a hint of evil intent from her. Still, I trusted her.
We continued talking and gossiping until it was time for the Queen to leave. She told us we could drop by the palace any time.
"You've made a wonderful friend, Kelly."
"Thank you for saying so."
"I should get ready."
"Where are you going?" Kelly asked.
"To visit my friend before I depart for America."
After changing, I got into my new Koenigsegg Agera RS, but Silvia was the one driving. We drove over to the hospital to visit Regina, my new best friend.
Then, we would go to see the remains of my old best friend.
