Seeing the gruesome sight before me I couldn't help but scream, I fell off my feet and began to despair.
"What is all this?" I said as I shuddered.
'What's all this carnage? Who could have done such a thing? Crap, I can't breathe, my hands and feet, I can't move.'
"What's going on? We heard a scream!"
Suddenly Denziel and his companion ran into the back alley where I was. They saw me sitting against the wall in fear.
"Roselina, are you alright?" Denziel asked in concern as he came to my side and I was in such a shock that I couldn't answer him.
"My god...What happened here?" Emily asked as she shuddered.
" Roselina!...Roselina! Roselina!"
I could hear Denziel's voice but no couldn't respond. It reminds me of that day. That day I found my father's corpse in the living room. That was the most painful moment in my life. The flashback was intense. The blood, The look of agony on his face as he lay there lifeless. I saw it all, I hold my head as Denziel shake me.
"No,.. this can't be," I sobbed as I held my head tightly.
After that traumatizing experience, I was taken to his mansion where I sat in his living room. I calmed down once again but the horror still affected me. Denziel and Emily walked in the living room where I was, looking at me as I slowly sip my cup of tea.
"Are you alright now Roselina?" he asked as he sat across from me.
"I'm fine," I responded.
"What happened?" Denziel queried.
"All I know. I was waiting for a friend and got a faint smell of blood?" I explained.
"You smelled blood? " Emily asked in bewilderment.
"I don't know, I was born with a strong nose," I explained. I put down the tea and got up. "Can I go home now?"
"Wait! We still need to ask you more questions?" Emily stated as she stood in my way preventing me from leaving.
"Move aside.I've got nothing else to say."
"We aren't done yet."
"I already told you everything. Why? Do you suspect that I did it? I know you do."
I glared her in the eyes, for some reason she doesn't like me and I don't like her either.
"If you aren't going to arrest me, can I go home now?" I queried to Denziel .
"Sure you can go," he responded.
With that I left the mansion. Luckily Mary was there waiting for me.
"Are you alright?" She asked in concern.
"I'm fine. Can we go now?" I requested.
"Okay."
She held my hand as we walked back home. I never want to experience that again.
....
Denziel looked through his house window and watched Roselina walk away.
"I still say we should have detained her," said Emily.
"Do you suspect that she's the culprit?" Denziel wondered.
"No...Well yes." she responded.
"She didn't do it. I watched her enter the back alley. Those people must have died 10 hours ago. You can't suspect someone just because they stumbled on some bodies," he explained. Then he took a seat. "And besides that look in her eyes. It wasn't that of a murderer…It was someone who had a tragic past, maybe witnessed a parent being murdered at a very young age and you of all people should know this."
Denziel looked at Emily. She was an orphanage who lost both her parents to a fire. After that Denziel family took her in and raised her to be a soldier .
"Ever since you saved me that day I've been faithful serving at your side...I'm sorry," Emily apologized.
Denzie stood up and stood in front of her.
"Yes...Faithfully."
He grabbed her around her waist and started kissing her. She threw her arms around his neck and he hugged her tightly .
.....
After returning home I went straight to bed. So many people were killed mercilessly. The image flashed Into my head and I ran straight to the bathroom and barfed in the toilet.
"Rosey, are you alright?" Mary asked from behind the door.
"I told you I'm already fine!" I barked.
Damn ! I'm never getting over that. That wasn't like the time I killed all those animals, this Is different, there are people, humans. I walked out of the bathroom and walked past Mary to my room.
The next came and I headed downstairs.
"Good morning," Mary greeted me as she smiled.
"How is your sleepy head doing this morning?" She wondered.
I'm fine compared to yesterday, I'm not suffocating anymore and even if I remembered, it's not as bad as it is now.
"What's for breakfast?" I queried.
"Pie of course," she replied.
She placed a slice of apple pie in front of me.
"It smells awesome."
"I know. My mom used to bake this for me."
While I chow down on the apple pie, Mary washed the dishes and the utensils.
"Geez, when did you make this?" I wondered.
"Last night while you were sleeping."
Seriously, I asked her about it and naturally she said it cheered me up.
"Ow!" Mary cried out in pain.
I quickly rushed to her side. "What's wrong," I queried.
"I cut my finger."
She showed me her hand and at that moment I caught wind of the smell of blood. The smell is more sweeter and alluring,
BUDUMP.
I felt an irregular heartbeat. It's like something inside me is desperately trying to come out. I quickly released her hand and ran upstairs into my room and slammed the door behind me.
It's hard trying to suppress my vampire instincts. I quickly bit down on my hand and drank my own blood. The more I drank my own blood the longer it took me to calm down but luckily I managed to suppress it.
" I don't know how long will I be able to keep this up?" I mumbled as I caught my breath.
I headed back downstairs where Mary finished dressing her finger and wrapping it with a cloth.
"Are you alright?" she asked as she was worried.
"I'm fine now," I reassured her.
Suddenly there was a knock on the door.
"It must be Joe, I asked him to get me some milk this morning," Mary informed.
I went to open it, only to find out that it Denziel standing there with a smile on his face.
"Hello."
