Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

In the 21st century, traffic was busy despite it being the night. In a public hospital room, a boy with black hair and pale skin was diagnosed with pneumonia. He laid in his bed as he breathed his last. The last thing he heard was the sound of his mother crying by his bedside.

.....

The sun shone brightly through the windows and the open ceiling of an old church. In the church lay on the ground was a beautiful girl, her long white hair splayed around her and covered her naked body. She opened her red eyes and stared at the crack in the church ceiling.

"Was my reincarnation a success?" she asked herself.

.....

'Was mom crying?'

I was too weak to move my arms any more, if not I would've touched my mother's face. All I could do was watch as she cried, my lungs failing by the seconds. What was I supposed to do?

What can I do?

I died at the age of 16, a virgin and a high school dropout. My life couldn't be any shittier. I closed my eyes and accepted my death. Please, if the afterlife existed, at least let me be reborn as something that wouldn't die so easily.

"And you shall."

'What?!'

I opened my eyes to a blindingly white room, unable to see my surroundings. What—no, where the hell was this? Yet, slowly, I could feel my body mending itself. I no longer hurt anywhere and my breathing seemed fine.

"Welcome to the chamber of fate."

I looked up and came face to face with a beautiful woman. She had long golden hair and green eyes. The white dress she wore was folded neatly under her as she sat on a sofa. Her gaze was soft as she watched me, a gorgeous smile on her face.

She chuckled arrogantly as she noticed my bewildered silence.

"Are you in such awe of my beauty that you have turned speechless?" she asked.

"Where is this place?" I asked.

"Hey! Are you ignoring me? You are being rude to a goddess, I'll have you know!"

I shrugged. "Sorry, Miss Old Big Tit Goddess."

Her eyelids twitched at my words, a vein slightly popping out from under the skin of her forehead.

"It seems," she fumed, "as though you are looking to start a fight, boy."

She looked angry. Had I done something to make her mad?

"I'm sorry," I quickly apologized. "I didn't mean to upset you."

"I see," she said with a huff. "So you think it's funny to call a woman old."

Out of thin air, a piece of paper materialized into existence. She began to read off it.

"Greg Foccman, age sixteen. Date of birth— February 6, 2006."

It didn't take long for me to realize that the piece of paper she held contained all the information about me, even things I didn't know I had such as odd habits and traits.

"Died on August 18, 2022, at 8:23PM."

So it was as I suspected. I had died.

"And your dying wish is to live a life without the fear of dying. Is that correct?" the self-proclaimed goddess asked as she looked at me.

"Excuse me, what is going on and who are you exactly?" I asked.

"My name is Athena, the goddess of the world," she answered proudly. "And I am giving you a second chance at life."

"What? A second chance?" I echoed.

"Yes. To live a new life in a new world as you see fit."

"I see…"

Suddenly, a holographic board appeared, displaying different species and various information about them on it. My eyes swept across the board. Humans, monsters, demons, and vampires were just some of the most eye-catching names.

"All these are different species that live in the new world. You can choose to be a human again and become a hero to save the world. Or perhaps you would prefer becoming a demon that can either rule or destroy it—"

"Excuse me," I cut her off. "Why does this all sound like you're sending me on a mission? Ruling the world, destroying it… Aren't you supposed to stop that?"

"Boy, when you've lived life as long as I have, you eventually stop caring about a few things along the way. Now hurry up and choose one. A new soul will be arriving soon," she snapped.

I scanned through all of my choices carefully, trying to choose the race that will suit me.

"Hurry up!"

"Fine, sheesh." I huffed and picked 'vampire' at random.

"Interesting," she mused. "You chose to become a vampire. Any particular reason why?"

"That's because vampires have a long lifespan and I want to be immortal," I answered. Then, my voice lowered a little, recalling my past life. "I don't want to die again."

If becoming human again meant that I would die at a hundred years old—or maybe even earlier due to illness, malnutrition, murder, or even suicide—then I would rather not be human again.

The goddess nodded. "I understand. In that case, allow me to give you a parting gift to kick-start your journey. Take it as payback for calling me an old lady…"

Suddenly, a magic circle appeared under my body and I was quickly swallowed by the night. Darkness surrounded me. That was how I died and reincarnated as a vampire.

When I opened my eyes again and looked around, I was in an old church.

'Couldn't she have sent me to a bed or something nicer?' I thought with a scoff.

I reached back and tried to swat away the insect that had been tickling my neck. Yet, instead of a bug, I touched something soft and silky.

"Huh?" I pulled the object I have touched forward only to realize it was hair—my hair! "What's with this long white hair? And… what's with this voice?"

My chest felt heavy and my back hurt, almost as though there were weights tied to my front. And my crotch… it felt way too light…

I looked down in fear, worried for the worst. No, please, anything but that! Please don't tell me—

"I've become a girl?! No!"
