I felt like Aliya in sweet sixteen by Balaji Abdullahi. " Grace, did you feel anything? I mean when you turned sixteen, did you like feel different in any way?"
"No. It was still like 14 or 15. Couldn't feel any difference.
"Oh my god, dear Natty's Diary, what do you think I wanna feel on my 16th birthday? I don't even know.
Well to some extent, I felt like a Young adult but I was sad and I found myself writing poems and it goes this way;
The Teen Girl
The most beautiful girl in the room
Her smiles are always charming
But behind those smiles
There are secret tears drying her up
Even her besties can't identify those tear.
She feels like an island
She feels like a princess locked in a castle
She feels like Marc Anthony
she wants to be free
From nagging and yelling
The teen girl
Dear lord help her
She needs your secret place
She needs a well padded shoulder to lie and cry on
She needs a hug
And she needs it directly from God
When I was done I was like wow I wrote a poem...
