CHAPTER 8:
When Lian woke up, Fidel was hovering over her with a simple shirt and a towel wrapped around him. Lian snorted and wanted to go back to sleep but Fidel made a sound that annoyed her.
"What's wrong with you?" she asked rubbing her eyes and pulling her mouth at him.
"Aren't you waking up to meet your mother-in-law?" he asked which surprised her.
"Mother-in-law? Why would she even come here? It's a few days after our wedding day and we're supposed to be on honeymoon." Lian said surprised at the same time mockingly.
"But are we really on a honeymoon? We haven't had sex yet. Maybe she knows you're here but we've never had sex." Fidel said seriously.
"I'll kill you!" Lian jumped out of bed, her nightgown which was always loose swaying and revealing her lingerie. Fidel felt his heart melt, but not long before he felt her pull his shirt.
"You want it?" he teased.
"How can you be so childish to tell your mother about your private life? Intimate life?" Lian asked madly pulling at him. His shirt which was in shape a few minutes ago lost its shape.
"I was just joking ok? Am a CEO, a great guy and a busy guy. I have no time to even discuss anything with my parents. I only need you to be there for my discussions ok?" Fidel said as he quickly slid out of the shirt leaving it in Lian's hands. Lian was shocked partly because he didn't take his joke, partly because he was now before him bare-chested and partly because she didn't know how to apologise.
"You also didn't take my joke, you're a bad wife." Fidel repeated what she told her yesterday making her embarrassed.
"I just didn't take it lightly." Lian said looking aside.
"You don't take jokes do you?" Fidel said. "That's what bad wives do to their handsome husbands." He said and started walking out. When his finger laid on the door handle, Lian ran to him, wrapped her hands around his bare chest and snorted.
"You can't go out with a bare chest. No one is supposed to see you like this except me." She said.
If there was anyone who enjoyed the moment, that person was Fidel. His blood boiled as he felt her body collide with his, and her hand wrap around his bare abs. "God... So this is what I've been missing while I was busy at work." He thought silently, then said it aloud.
"You're a jealous wife, aren't you?" he teased her. Lian snorted but pushed him back and leaned on the door without saying a word. She was avoiding his gaze. "I just want to laugh out loud you know why? Because you love me but don't want to say it. This is crazy."
If there was a day he was ever happy in his life, it was today. He never got to tease Lian before because she couldn't even allow him near her. It looked like forcing her to move into the same bedroom with him was a good idea. He now knew that even though she was a savage, deep down she care about him and how he appears in public.
He pulled another shirt since the formed one has been pulled at one side. Then Lian got off the door and let him out.
"What got over me?" she wondered as she walked off into the bathroom.
Once Fidel was out of Lian's view, he was back to his serious self.
Kate who had been gossiping swallowed a mouthful of saliva which almost choked her.
So, this meant Fidel wasn't reporting to the office and Lian wasn't going anywhere. It's not like she was forced to stay, but who would be there for her mother-in-law? Already her relationship with Fidel's mother was bad, she knew Kate was taking the upper hand. She would stay and watch the movie to the end. If it needed some show, she would give it to her sister. After all, it won't cost her anything.
Lian walked at the backyard of the castle. The Silver Castle was built on a large plot of land and there were flower beds at the backyard. Opposite the balcony, one could see the flower beds and the velvet of grass adjacent it.
So, when Katherine came, it happened Lian was walking around the flower bed and didn't know Katherine was here, and even if she knew, she wouldn't care much. After all, Katherine was on Bella's side. Another reason why she leg Bella stay, she wanted to find a good way to embarrass her.
Fidel and Adam we're having a conversation on the other side of the square. So, he only got a message that his mother was here. Silver Castle was very big, a compound so big if you were at one end, you would fail to notice cars coming in. So he literally didn't know when his mother arrived until he got a notification. His first thought was, where was Lian? The way she seemed, she was up to something. He personally wouldn't care if no one loved Lian, as long as he did love her. But for the sake of his relationship with his parents, he would love it if they developed a good relationship between them. He could live without his parents of course, but he wouldn't want that.
So we strolled back to check on Lian. Well, from the square, the huge house would block your view of the flower bed. So he didn't see her. He walked towards the waterfall which was few meters from the house's front balcony. The guard seeing his boss approaching, he maintained his posture even though a few moments ago they had been arguing about what changed when Lian entered the castle.
"She's in the flower bed. I don't think she even knows Mrs Is here." The guard said.
For a normal guy, maybe it would have made sense if he ran in to give his mother a hug before walking out to seek for a trouble seeker as a wife. But who said Fidel was a regular guy? Mom can wait.
He walked between the rows of flowers, caught up with Lian, plucked a flower and planted it at her long hair.
"If anyone looks at you know, they would think you're preaching peace." He joked.
Wasn't she on for a show? Lian laughed lightly dragging Fidel along with her. She knew, if they weren't looking, then they might as well check the CCTV footage later and get the shock. Either way, they would feel want she wants, jealous.
Then, she let go and ran to the velvet of grass and laid down with her face up. Fidel's breathing hyped. Was she communicating something? Well, I don't care, I can live to remember this day after all.
He did respond, ran to her and his body collided with hers. They rolled severally before settling and facing the sky. If Lian didn't notice anything, Fidel did. She was feeling comfortable rolling with him, their bodies intertwined and brushing together. She didn't feel shy, she didn't feel uncomfortable. inside e his heart, he felt great joy.
