After spending some more time at the farm with his father, Garth packed up the basket and utensils his father used to eat before rushing home.
Unfortunately, by the time he got home, his porridge was quite cold but Garth didn't seem to mind as he hurriedly washed up before settling down to enjoy his meal.
With each morsel he took, he savored the sweetness that accompanied it.
After he was done eating, he quickly rushed through his household chores which were basically cleaning his room and helping Lydia with a few errands.
Three hours after the sun reached its highest point, Garth took permission from Lydia to head out with his friends to play.
There was a lake not too far from the fields and they wanted to go there for a swim.
"Please Ma, we just want to go for a swim." Garth pleaded.
Lydia sighed. "Fine then. Be careful when you're out there. You know that the skirmishes between our two dukedom neighbors are getting out of hand. Don't stray too far, okay."
