As Lloyd and Max engaged in a conversation, the former was still building up the courage to bring up the main reason he had called for Max.
After almost two hours of conversation, while drinking tea, Max finally expressed his desire to take his leave as he dropped the empty tea cup on the center table and got to his feet.
Faced with no other option, Lloyd decided to 'wing it and do what was required of him. "Wait a minute, Max, there's something I need your help with."
Max's interest was raised as he sat back down. "Tell me."
Lloyd pondered for a moment before speaking. "There is an urgent letter I need to deliver to a certain location. It concerns the goods that were meant to be delivered to your mother."
Max frowned. "Goods?... Can't that be done tomorrow?... I mean it's pretty late."
Lloyd quickly shook his head as he pulled out a white envelope and placed it on the table. "Not at all. I had told your mother about it but she ended up forgetting because she was waiting for your return.
"This is very important as I have already invested in this. All you need to do is meet with the other party and deliver the letter. That would be fine."
Max massaged his temples as he looked at the envelope and then at Lloyd. "Is there something you are not telling me?"
Lloyd grimaced. "I have no idea what you are talking about."
Max scrutinized the fellow before him for only a moment before reaching out and picking up the letter. "Then I guess I'll be on my way."
Lloyd nodded. "Alright then. Do be careful."
With that, Max got to his feet and quickly left the study, his destination… a certain location on the outskirts of Tudor County.
Hearing the door to the study close, Lloyd heaved a sigh of relief as he relaxed back on the couch, his eyes staring at the rough. "He clearly saw right through my lies and still decided to go… crazy kid."
With a sigh, he added. "Be safe."

Max was currently making his way to the address written on the letter he carried. Leaping from roof to roof, he quickly covered the distance.
"I wonder why Sir Lloyd found it difficult to tell me the truth. He doesn't seem like a bad guy so what's with the letter?"
Max had seen through Lloyd's pathetic attempt to get him out of the house and he could not help but feel pity for the businessman that found it difficult to lie.
It made him recall his time on Earth with all those shameless entrepreneurs that were known for being pro scammers.
In any case, he still decided to go due to his curiosity. He needed to know what exactly would make his mother's benefactor send him out at such an hour.
After almost fifteen minutes of travel, Max was currently a few blocks away from his destination.
As he took a deep breath, Max noticed a familiar scent of a certain individual.
"Hmm… weirdly, the scent stands out so much… almost as though That person is calling for me." Max furrowed his brows as he fell into deep thought.
Just then, in a dark corner, a certain individual had his eyes on Max with a calm expression. "Seems like I won't have to waste my time searching for you."
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a talisman with a strange inscription on it.
Meanwhile, Max was about to make a move when he noticed subtle energy fluctuations in the area around him.
The energy fluctuations continued to expand at a rapid rate until the entire area was covered in a thin veil.
"A formation?... Hmm." Max glanced to the side to find a hooded individual standing on a roof, two buildings away from him.
The hooded individual looked at him as well and without warning, traversed the distance between them with a single step.
Pulling out a black-colored dagger from the side of his pants, the hooded individual swung it, hoping to slash Max's throat in one fell swoop.
Unfortunately, Max was not so easy to deal with. Redirecting Ordena around him, Max immediately thought aloud. "Divergence!"
The hooded figure expected to see Max's blood burst out like a fountain, instead, he somehow managed to miss his target with the latter taking a few steps back to create some distance between them.
The hooded figure was surprised but quickly regained his composure as he looked at Max with renewed interest.
Max on the other hand had a complicated expression as he scrutinized the person that just attacked him without warning.
He had to admit that his attack just now was indeed quite dangerous and if not for his enlightenment, he might have already been a bleeding mess at this point.
"Who are you and why did you attack me?"
The hooded figure looked him over before coldly responding. "Die!"
With a single step, the hooded individual was once again in front of Max.
He attributed his first attack's failure to underestimating his opponent but this time he moved even faster and for a moment, his arm blurred.
Max harrumphed. "Think I'm so easy to kill?... Think again... Convergence!"
The hooded individual watched in shock as his arm that was aimed for Max's neck was suddenly pulled by an unknown force toward his chest, a gesture that allowed Max to grab his wrist and hold it firmly.
Before he could do anything else, Max counterattacked.
Bam
The hooded figure felt the air leaving his lungs as Max delivered a powerful blow to his torso.
Before he could recover, Max landed two more palm strikes before letting go of his wrist and delivering a bone-crunching kick that sent him flying down.
The figure crashed ruthlessly into the ground, with a giant crater forming at the area he landed.
"Ugh." As he groaned, the figure stared hatefully at Max.
With their little exchange, he had managed to deduce one thing...
Max was definitely stronger than the information he received!
