At a certain point they came to love how far they had come and wished to never go back.
Which was why when the corrupted energy sort to not only regress their progress but also turn them into mindless monstrosities, they quickly resisted.
But what could they do against such a fearsome power?
It corroded the senses and turned them into chaotic monstrosities.
Max could understand now why the yeti he transformed into was so aggressive.
Maybe because there was a part of him that hated that he couldn't kill himself before his consciousness was corroded.
He was disgusted with himself.
In a way, Max had freed him.
