"How long does she have?" Max asked with a stern expression on his face.
Ionia pursed her lips briefly before replying. "A month, maybe less. I can't be sure due to how strange the poison is."
"I understand." Max nodded before adding. "Take care of her please, I'll do what I have to do."
Ionia nodded in response. "No problem. Thank you."
"No need to thank me." Max remarked before turning and leaving without looking back.
Soon he left the sanctum to recover and prepare for the second level of his training.

After he left, Corym tried to step up but a single glare from Ionia caused him to remain in place.
Ionia pursed her lips. "He is willing to do so much even though she is not his kin."
"He is a good man." Iolrath remarked before adding. "A proper example of what a Sage represents."
