"You really don't know what's good for you, huh?" The blond noble with the red jacket blurted out in annoyance.
To be honest several nobles hoped for an opportunity to place Lloyd Webber in his place.
After he managed to make a little money, he dared to act as though he were better than them.
How dare a commoner think like that?... What's more, he didn't try to hide it much as he subtly made it clear to them.
Now, his daughter went a step further to stand up to them in public and ridicule them?... This was unacceptable!
He wouldn't have it no matter what.
Laura sneered at his comment. "I have said what I had to. I leave the final decision concerning this matter to you guys."
"You filthy commoner!... Remember, Dominic is my name and I will be the one to put you in your place today!" He roared as he unleashed his aura.
Knowing that he could not unleash his summon as that would complicate things, he resorted to using his martial skills and magic artifact to go ahead with his threat.
Dominic wouldn't just sit back and allow Laura to keep on running her mouth and his twin brother, as well as the noble princess, were in full support as they stared at Laura, waiting for the moment when she would be on the ground, begging for mercy.
Meanwhile, Laura sighed in her heart as she felt relief. Dominic was an Intermediate rank magician like her but unfortunately, the number of magic circles he possessed was one lesser than hers.
It was enough to make her understand that he was weaker and thus, they would be no problem teaching him a lesson.
Her eyes glowed with anticipation as she felt magic flow through her veins, strengthening her physique.
This was a basic skill learned by all magicians.
Strengthening their bodies would help them enhance their physical stats as well as other bodily functions, allowing them to keep abreast of the transcendental world of magic.
Just then, Dominic pulled out a ceremonial sword from his belt and brandished it. It was a silver sword with a black hilt and a light blue diadem placed at the connecting point between the blade and hilt.
"Bleed for me!" Without further Ado, Dominic attacked.
Circulating magic through his body, he was able to move at a place faster than the human eye could keep track of, quickly traversing the distance between himself and Laura before swinging the sword, aiming at her face.
His intent was clear.
He would shame her first by dealing damage to the face that gave her the courage to dare walk around in public.
With a sinister grin, he thought. "I will disfigure your face so much, that you will have to use a mask whenever you come out."
Unfortunately, his plans were not destined to come to fruition.
Laura exploded her aura abruptly, knocking him back slightly after which she quickly followed up with a palm strike.
Bam
Her palm struck Dominic's torso, drawing the wind out of him as he spat out spittle mixed with blood.
Thankfully, his body was strengthened, or else his internal organs would have taken a massive hit… one that he wouldn't be able to recover from.
Delivering such a decisive strike, Laura withdrew her palm and got back into a fighting stance.
Dominic on the other hand seemed a bit dazed as he clutched his stomach with an unwilling look on his face before he inadvertently dropped to the ground.
He was unconscious!
Just like that, Laura took down a noble kid. For the commoners, it was an exhilarating experience but for the three remaining nobles, their eyes were currently bloodshot.
Laura was about to quip when an oppressive voice spoke up. Instinctively, she immediately knew that this was the voice of the last male noble that had not spoken yet.
"Impressive. You managed to incapacitate Dom in a single attack."
Laura knitted her brows. Something in her gut informed her that something bad was about to happen
"And you are?" Laura asked curiously, already preparing to meet his attacks with everything she got.
"Cedric Rion, son of Lord Frederick of Winterroll." He replied with a casual expression.
Up until now, Cedric had remained mute, mostly because he was uninterested in the antics of the three other nobles but with the appearance of Laura, he suddenly felt the urge to join in.
Laura narrowed her eyes. "Do you plan on getting involved in the matter concerning this little girl… Cedric?"
Cedric chuckled slightly before responding with a sharp glint in his eyes. "You are mistaken about something, Ms. Webber."
"What is that?"
"I was already involved in the matter."
Laura's eyes went wide as Cedric's aura exploded.
Advanced rank!
Laura could not believe it. A teen that was younger than her was at a much higher cultivation level.
So high that she might as well cough up blood in frustration.
Inadvertently, her back was quickly drenched in cold sweat.
In front of absolute power, one could only bend the knee but she knew that bowing down would not only ruin her reputation and her father's, but it would also harm her ego and might even come with physical harm.
After all, she had just harmed one of their own.
As her thoughts were running wild on how to act with Cedric's presence, the latter made his move.
Whoosh
Laura was astounded. Before she got a chance to react, Cedric was already before her, the negative feelings he had for her glowing indiscriminately in his deep blue eyes.
"You are finished," Cedric remarked as he swung his fist.
Laura saw the fist but was unable to react due to the oppressive aura Cedric was giving off. It held her in place, turning her into a punching bag with no means to defend.
The fist came for her like a death blow and for that singular moment, she saw her life flash before her eyes.
She expected pain the next second… But it never came.
Instead, a familiar voice remarked from beside her.
"It's been a long time… brother."
