Taegen pursed his lips. "The reason I left my sanctuary was that this foolish child of mine had reported the presence of a human in our land.
"I had to confirm if it were true and it is. Even though he is a Sage, it doesn't change the fact that he is human."
He paused to catch his breath before he continued. "Magicians were the ones that chased us away from Midgard but that doesn't change the fact that the Sages abandoned us when we needed them most and even those without Magic remained silent."
Max frowned as he listened to Taegen's words.
The most hard-hitting was the fact that Sages had abandoned the Other races but what he was told was that they died out because no one wanted to practice the Art of the Hermit anymore.
Was there a group that left before this happened and if there was… would they or their descendants still be around during this period?
The possibility of this being truly filled Max with delight.
