Even though he tried to hide it, Regard and Ariadne could tell from his aura that he was exhausted.
"What happened to him?" It hadn't been long since they returned from their consolation trip throughout Cagliari.
They walked in on the scene of Laura standing before Link with Max seated at a corner with Ella playing between his legs.
The sight was quite endearing as it made Max look like a young father.
"Oi, don't get the wrong idea. She was getting tired of sleeping so I decided to play with her a little bit." Max tried to explain but there wasn't a need.
If he were being honest, he enjoyed Ella's company.
Her damaged soul didn't change the fact that Ella was quite a lovely child.
Her tendencies even made her all the more endearing.
Of course, it was hard to stop her from thinking about Ryuk.
In that case, Max was thankful. After all, how was he to break the news to her that her father was no more?
