A sunny day in the slums of Madrigal.
Those lucky enough to have legal jobs moved about, picking up trash, separating them into useful and not useful in a bid to take the useful ones to the market to sell.
This was the way of life for the poor in Madrigal located on the Northern side of Zion Empire.
It was one of the low-end Dukedoms paying tribute to the Emperor.
Here, the gap between the rich and poor was so pronounced, the structure of the city was demarcated into two distinct factions.
On one side was the meager opulence of the few nobles in the dukedom and on the other side… the poverty strike slums that were basically dumps.
Their houses were made out of wood gotten from the forest, in great contrast to the stone slabs used by the nobles and their meals… it was just enough to stop them from starving.
And it was in such conditions that Link grew up.
