Max pursed his lips as he pondered on Regard's words. It wasn't hard to understand though as he could just about make out how terrible such an existence can be.
If it were a time when humans lived with the Other races, everything would be fine but that period had long since passed.
As a half-Elf dwelling amongst humans, Max could tell that Ariadne would never be able to get back to her people and with the short lives of humans, it was hard to gain an attachment that would last.
It would be better to say that after a few hundred years, the fear of loss would slowly push her to the extremities.
Sitting upright, Max sighed. "She must be lonely."
"Yeah…" Regard dropped his head, reminiscing.
Just then, a loud bang echoed from the building Ariadne was in, a sign that the battle had begun.
"She should be out soon." Regard remarked thoughtfully.
Max nodded. "I hope she isn't too upset with what I said."
"Uh-huh."
