"Damn it… what do I do?" Cedric bit his lower lip, cursing his glaring weakness in the face of danger.
Even worse was the fact that Nadia's situation turned complicated as Cain's presence hastened the effects of the air of death, slowly pushing her to her limits.
"Young master…" Nadia called out weakly, barely holding on to life.
Cedric felt something break as he heard Nadia's voice. "Please stop, you are killing her!" he pleaded.
At this point, Cedric was willing to do away with his pride, as long as Nadia was spared.
He had just met her after so long and was on the path to defining their relationship. There was no way he could sit back and watch her die.
Cain shook his head. "Don't you understand that living in itself is pain? Only by being embraced by death may one be able to experience eternal peace. So in fact, I am doing you a favor."
"Shut up!... You are here for us, stop implicating innocents." Cedric exclaimed angrily.
