Chapter 215 - The true meaning of Despair

In a desolate land…

Max knelt on a sand mound, covered in scars and wearing rags. His hair was disheveled and his eyes unfocused.

He struggled to breathe but found it difficult to do so.

Gripping his throat, he strangled himself for a bit before suddenly heaving as he finally caught his breath.

At that moment, Max regained focus in his eyes but nothing else was around except for destruction and death.

Bones were scattered about and the smell of blood permeated the atmosphere.

Max gagged as he saw dead bodies piled up, rotting away with flies perching on them as though celebrating a feast.

"What is this place?... Where am I?... What's going on?" Max was left utterly confused.

Just then, there was movement.

Max turned wide-eyed as he watched dead bodies rise from their position, turning to face him.

Some had their eyeball hanging out from its socket, others had half of their face melted off, and some others had their guts ripped out.
