Chereads / Ascension of the Samsara Sage / Chapter 2 - Maximilian

Chapter 2 - Maximilian

Roland moved through a bright river, quickly approaching a certain destination. "Fuck that guy. What God?... More like asshole that won't let me live in peace."

Unfortunately despite cursing, Roland could do nothing but follow the tides acting on his body.

All around, white light moved with him, taking the shape of stars as they flashed across his eyes.

"I wonder what's going to happen now." He helplessly sighed. "Hah, it might not be so bad though. Even though he tricked me, he did say that I'd be a hero in the new world… That might be cool. Hopefully, I don't have to suffer anymore."

At a certain point, his travel through space-time slowed down allowing Roland to catch a brief glimpse of the situation outside the river of light.

It was then he saw something that caused his heart to almost leap out of his chest.

A creature… no, there was no way to perfectly name it… a mass of dark clouds with occasional lightning flashing around it. The clouds moved as though they were alive.

Roland watched as the cloud slowly moved before engulfing a star. This did not take any effort and within a single second, the star was extinguished.

Even though this looked like it took a lot of time, it was merely the span of a single breath from when Roland had slowed down.

Before he could comment, Roland left the scenery, heading toward a planet in the distance.

At some point, the cloud suddenly moved, surveying its surrounding before it went on its way.

Everywhere was dark. Roland had arrived at his destination.

"What the hell was that?" He wondered, recalling the scene of the cloud swallowing a star. It was an unfathomable sight and yet he saw it happen.

Trying to focus his thoughts, he heard indistinct sounds all around him.

Listening closely, he could make out feminine voices. "…Hmm."

Just then, he managed to catch what they were saying. "Oh my goodness, my lady, you did it. It's a boy."

"Congratulations, esteemed lady, it is done."

Roland was lost. "Huh… what are they talking about?... Boy?... It is done?... This is confusing, I'd better take a look."

Opening his eyes, he finally saw what was happening. Six ladies had gathered around him, each one with a loving expression on their face.

"Oh my, such a cute baby. He is definitely going to grow up to be a handsome one."

"I agree." Two of the ladies giggled as they spoke.

"Oh no, something is wrong." The most matured one suddenly said worriedly.

"What is it?" Her companions asked.

"The baby is silent, this is not a good sign."

Roland kept silent as he slowly came to a realization. "Baby?... Silent?... Wait, does that mean…" He instinctively put his arms.

Before he could comment on his plump appendages, he was flipped on his stomach.

"Ow… what the hell lady!!??" He felt a painful sting on his butt.

"Hit him harder, we have to get the baby to cry."

"Eh.. harder… Hold your horses, I'll cry, goddamn it!!" Without further Ado, Roland swallowed his pride and cried.

Seeing this, the ladies heaved a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness. I was worried something went wrong."

"But with his delayed response, doesn't that mean…"

"Do not think too much of it. Please give me my child, I would like to take a look at him." At that moment, a lovely voice was heard.

Roland turned his neck slightly toward the origin to find a beautiful lady laid down in bed.

She looked rather pale but this did not ruin her beauty in any way. With lustrous black hair going down her shoulder as well as red lips, blue eyes, a plump chest, and a well-defined jawline, she was indeed a world-class beauty.

"…Mama." Roland whistled internally, his inner simp… I mean, admirer, coming to light.

"Of course, Lady Rion." The matured lady walked over and handed Roland to Lady Rion.

She reached out and making sure not to drop him, took Roland in her arms, cradling him against her chest as she gazed at him lovingly. "He looks exactly like his father." She mused.

"…She is literally my mama… whoever got you must be a really lucky guy. Well, I guess I'm a pretty lucky guy as well."

Roland lampooned as he snuggled even closer to her chest, feeling the full plump.

"Oh my, this young lord seems to love his mother's embrace." The matured lady praised.

"Mn, naturally."

"Heh, who wouldn't love this position. Y'all don't know what I've had to go through. Spent my entire life a virgin… Never again!!!" Roland declared.

At some point, the door to the room they were in swung open, and in walked a well-dressed man exuding a powerful presence, followed by two dignified old men.

"My lord." The ladies quickly bowed their heads in respect.

Sparing them a single glance, the man moved toward the bed, a beaming smile on his handsome face. "My dear Lara, you finally gave me an heir."

Roland sized him up briefly before sighing. "This guy is built like a Norse god. No wonder he caught such a fine lady… life is really unfair…"

He suddenly paused as he thought of a possibility. "Wait… a handsome father and a beautiful mother… they also look wealthy… there is no way my looks would pale in comparison!!!... Haha, watch out world, the rise of Roland is here!!!"

At the same time, The man reached the other side of the bed and sat across from Lara.

"He looks just like you," Lara remarked smilingly.

"Mn, let me see." Reaching out, Lara reluctantly handed over Roland to the man.

He nodded approvingly before taking a look at his companions.

"He looks just like you, your lordship."

"It is clear that he will walk the same path as you."

The two elders praised one after the other, just about saying what the Lord wanted to hear. On the other side, Lara showed a disconcerted look before quickly regaining herself.

"Mn, I agree." The lord said before turning to Lara. "You have done well."

She quickly bowed. "I live to please you, your lordship."

"Haha, of course."

"Your lordship you should name the child."

"Yes, that is true. Give the child a name."

The two elders urged.

"You are right…" The lord paused, pondering for some time. Looking down at the child, he came to a decision.

"Your name will be… Maximilian."
