Clang
The silent area they were in came alive as the echoes of metal clashing with metal reverberated across.
A battle was underway and at this point, the destruction was at a minimum. Of course, the area was dotted with several craters and sword gashes with the pillars barely hanging on.
One slight misstep and everything would come down on both of them.

They collided swords once again. Darwin stared at Richard as the latter gazed at him with eyes filled with bloodlust.
"Why must you stand in my way?... Why must you stop me from being with my love?" Richard seemed wronged… Like his cause was a righteous one, but Darwin was no fool.
It was all an act.
Maybe Richard had already figured out Kaylan's true condition but he turned a blind eye to it.
He didn't care what happened to others as long as she was by his side. It was selfish of him but also understandable.
Darwin wondered if things would have been different if he hadn't made that hypothesis.
