Elena took a step back out of fright. Alas, their escape route was already closed off.
She bit her lower lip at the hopelessness of her situation. All her life, she had always managed to worm her way out of every problem using her brain but faced with a situation whereby all plans were pointless, It was difficult for Elena to accept the reality.
It wasn't like she hasn't expected danger when she arrived in the City. After all, the man that gave them the information had spoken about the dangers that Nazarene posed.
Even though for some reason, that man was unable to remember the dangers he faced, he could still recall how many times he had close shaves with death and it was only by a stroke of luck that he survived.
With that knowledge, Elena still decided to come.
It didn't matter the danger as long as she could fulfill her dreams but with what was before them, their fate was to die a pointless death.
