Max went wide-eyed. "Disappeared?"
"Yes, disappeared," Lloyd replied.
Laura chipped in. "What happened to them?"
"No one knows. Some say that they were wiped out because they dared to overstep their boundaries and bypass the laws of Samsara, others say that they fled the city after creating a monster…" Lloyd replied.
"But none of those stories are the truth." Max finished with Lloyd nodding in agreement.
"That is indeed the case. The disappearance of the inhabitants of the Forbidden City remains one of the mysteries of Midgard."
With Lloyd's story finished, Max turned to Elena who still had her back turned to him. "And you want me to follow you to explore such a place?"
Elena turned to face him. "Yes. As a part of my party."
"Your highness, I don't think it's wise to go to such a dangerous place." Laura chipped in. "I know of the Forbidden City and the stories of what happened to those that explored it… It is not a place you can just explore."
