Chapter 1 - Kazehaya Kazuya

The wind of the spring is starting to blow throughout Kyoto countryside. The breezy breeze billowed curtains brought in together flowers and trees' balmy smell into the room. It's a cold, quiet morning, and Kazuya's heavy laziness to leave bed warmth.

A movie led him to his grandparents' house in Kyoto, re-flashed back in his head.

Unlike Tokyo's unrest and always on move, he couldn't yet find things to hate. Kazuya's ears noticed light, gentle, and moderate footsteps approaching. One of the tenants in the house comes to his morning peace. The morning people and his sleepiness. The tenants without his consent busied themselves taking care little master of the house.

A pestering bug Kazuya's eyes in the morning time, a tenant leaning at the sliding door of his room.

His parents' blue bolt says they will be transferred overseas. He neither chooses live with one of the two older sisters of undependable in his eyes. The perverted type is a narcissist, and each has a harem of their own.

The parents can't count on their daughters and the little brother can't count on his sisters.

Kazuya's decisive decision to live with his grandparents rather than his sisters getting headaches trying to find time to look out for the fragile and bothersome little brother.

A worry wart parents because he's the only son in the family. The choice is to send the precious son to their parents' house in the Kyoto countryside.

The chronological order of how he got deserted and a thank you to his parents' company for overseas transfer.

Sunrays shine through the shoji windows screen. The blanket no longer feels warmth. He's yet to see the sunrise in the Kyoto countryside.

"Have you woken up?" asked the tenant.

"Where's your eyes gone today?" asked Kazuya back.

The fortunate jolly good to live without his grandparents but three grown-up men. Escaped from his older sisters in Tokyo, he gets three older brothers who are always curious about what he's doing every second and minute in Kyoto. He still sees how his grandmother one powerful matriarch in the house and the grandfather's extra allowance resorted to an effort to flipped up and down house to ryokan.

The house of the sense and the felt of ryokan. Kazuya lay back again, boring tenants and unfamiliar faces.

"It's still early to go to school and have breakfast. Rest and sleep well on weekdays." Hairen is always on the opposite of his words.

The tenant leaves and the sliding door shut. He wonders where in Japan to find tenants with great and polite manners sarcastically.

The splashing sound shower in the bathroom getting real quick, out of it soon than usual, Kazuya's quick wearing a school uniform, and grabbed a school bag in a minute, and halfway walking downstairs, Kazuya's final touch dressing up in front of the mirror in the hallway.

On the day one he was dumped, the letter only he sees.

The letter 'Take care of tenants and ryokan.' says grandfather indirectly. Asexy tenants bothering the neighborhood by passing by or passerby stopped to look at them. It has been a cumbersome week and it's unchanged. He'll stay with stony tenants and be taken care of by them till grandparents back from vacation.

He called, and no answer.

The school bag is back in his hand and heading downstairs. The tenants' rooms are downstairs. The three empty rooms upstairs, he's taking over them. The study place, the library, and the gaming room. The master bedroom is a sleeping room. It's comfortable, large, and vast. It gives Kazuya a privacy privilege ratification. An arrogant feeling welled up.

"What's breakfast today?" Kazuya's unrude morning greeting. The bag is aside and he takes place on the zabuton cushion. He sees grandfather has renovated the house blending in both modern and traditional elements. He has the hope the house will attract more customers to chase his grandparents back taking care of him and the house as how it's supposed to be, caring house to last long not he and the three tenants will crush the house with verbose daily communication.

Hands holding fork and spoon, and breakfast meals in the mouth. Its long time since he last used chopsticks. He's not used to it. Really, a rich brat from rich family. The high school's first day started without a glimpse of his grandparents' silhouette and breakfast time with three men he doesn't know after his grandfather made the house ryokan-like.

"Kazuya, your uniform scarves..., it's an eyesore. Fix it," said Kira.

"It styled to look that way." Kazuya's gratification sleeping with a hungry stomach, waking up, what wouldn't look scrumptious in his eyes?

"I'll fix your scarves by myself...," threaten Hairen.

Kazuya's immediate cut-off. "I will fix it later." Kazuya's later will always end up at the no later time. Kazuya's focus on eating in others' eyes is it's gobbling the food.

"Kazuya, it's your games sound again last night?" asked Luka.

"It's usual sound daily to my ears. What else could be none other than it?" Kira's interrogation question.

Kazuya interprets Kira hearing as sharper than animals. Remembering how the wind in the afternoon agreeably swooshed paperwork falling seamlessly from the table. He got Kira's, 'Why you don't pick up the papers falling all over the room?'

Kazuya's boring habit of clicking or tapping a pen on a table is an unrepentant nuisance to a second tenant. A kid who doesn't spare his second mind to the second tenant's room situated beneath his room.

Kazuya's deaf ear pretends.

The fragility of tenants' ears to high end stereo system speakers and high-frequency RPG gaming sound. It's not him to be blamed as stubbornly as a mule but admitting fault, half is his.

The three faults of his is forgetting he's living with three tenants in the house, the house is not a modernist house with all-proof sound is second, and the third is house has involuntarily become an inn.

He wants to know where grandfather and grandmother bear down on having a vacation leaving the ryokan-house to strangers.

"I hear nothing. Why do you ask?" He won't play, play till the game win.

"I heard it all the way to my room." Hairen feels the need to formulate it further for Kazehaya's understanding.

"A problem butting in your night sleep peace? That could be the reason I slept late last night."

"Want to see how it turns out it later?"

Destined destiny for young one to lose to the oldest.

"Let me say sorry for bothering you." Half-sincere apology. Bit and pieces.

Hairen says nothing after Kazuya's apology. Their focus is back on breakfast. Hairen's smirking silent smile watched Kazuya eating more than usual.

Luka stands up after each person's plate is empty. "Let's go."

All left home in one car and headed straight to the school. Along the road, the lullaby mixed of morning mist and cold wind breeze to sleepy eyes. Kazuya's napping time in the morning will always last until noon. He's the type who has no time to waste time.

Kira's eyes on the panorama outside all time. Resting his face on his hand on the window car sill. The least to talk. The type suit Kazuya's aptitude the most. The less meddling, the easier life made is.

Kazuya bumped hard his head into Hairen's arm. Substitute and borrowed pillow. An extra payment.

"I'm napping," said Kazuya.

"We'll wake you up at noon." Luka's reply undistracted his hand on the steering wheel. Teasing 15 years old boy living far from his family even after being back in his grandparents' hometown develops empathized feelings of avidity.

DUMB

Within a moment, he falls asleep.

They say a genius and excellent student burns the midnight oil studying games examinations and have a nap on the way to school.

Solidarity to hate Kazuya's not the genius mentioned.

A thousand years later, a gamer ace in the online world web throned king in RPG also a lousy student ranked bottom in school woke up feeling both cheeks getting hard pinch. What is the...?!!!

"It hurt!! It hurt!! It hurt!! Are your ears deaf to hear I'm shouting it hurts? " yelled Kazuya. He shoves the hand away.

"Well verse to thought you're deaf to hear the call as yours in playing games at night disturbing my night sleep peace. Why reason to tire my mouth come works with some pain. How do you see wonderfulness made to your own fault?" Hairen's once-a-time bastard, a lesson to annoyed Kazehaya.

Kira and Luka are already outside, didn't bother themselves for the end of episode one of many episodes to come.

"Get your stupid wonderfulness out of my pain cause my business is finished. Please open the door so I can get out from thunder and rain time I'm sticking longer with you."

"Can't you see the door at your side functioned as the same door at my side? Get your legs down through it. You necessarily wait through me is unnecessary." Hairen pointed his finger to the left door.

Kazuya gets down from the car. "Thank you in your masochistic way waking me up!" He slams the door shut.

"Are you okay, Kazuya?" inquire Luka.

"I wouldn't hurt myself to the point where I could barely pass to press the keyboard." Which part he's hurt by slamming the car door on a quiet morning, not his cheeks pinched by Hairen?

Kazuya's continuous rhapsody flout Hairen's handsomeness out of worth not equivalent to his violent acts.

"Don't worry. His hand isn't easily broken over slamming the car door. It's well when he can study the games well." Kira honesty. When someone didn't speak, they're an honest person. Guaranteed.

The hidden truth in Kazuya's thoughts: 'Save your worries because I won't go to the infirmary.'

A sincere oath the infirmary won't see his face in three years of high school life.

"Mind get out of way, Kazehaya? I need to go to my classes' business."

Kazuya looks up at his side. Hairen standing beside waiting for his way to clear up. "Your blind eyes to see many others' paths to walk on? Why don't you walk through it?" An act of unconscious revenge. The other path Kazuya means is a long way path.

"Thank you, Kazehaya. I'll remember your credit later. Don't forget your debt hasn't been paid in full yet."

"I won't," said Kazuya. "My cheeks pain, everyone hasn't paid for it yet." Kazuya's revenge, one person must filigree others.

"'I'm sure no teachers will get his or her head exploded of me not being able to hold the pen and zero performance in examinations and they're requestioning to see my guardians and it'd not helpless not to introduce you as my newly appointed guardians.' Your long game venture keep it for the next time you really have a broken hand and it's the day of school examination," Hairen enunciates exact sentences in Kazuya's mind.

No new celebration of revenge in Kazuya's head. Hairen reading his mind is a fortune teller skill. The tenants have a wide broad variety of skills unknown and unique whimsical to other normal humans.

"Now, would mind set yourself aside out of the way?"

"I don't have the mouth to say yes to your request." Little kid stubbornness.

One week of familiarity sure gets them beyond years out pick a bone and pick of contention.

"Let's go, Luka. We're late," said Kira. Luka nodded. They leave no time to wait for a kid and adult dissension disclosing childishness.

Where again in Japan to find one similarness Kazuya's grandfather's ryokan where the house master and tenants getting along with fake kind and fake worried long-lasting?

"Your hand hurt?" asked Hairen.

"Tell me why it's hurt. Are you a beast clouded in human form hurting a human?"

"I see. Don't mind I hurt it a little bit?" asked Hairen.

"Why should I let you 'don't want to waste a second later' to let you hurt me...!"

Hairen take Kazuya's wrist and pushed him outside the way. Hairen's bossy gratitude never bent out teaching first and the last master even at risk he'll be ignored by ryokan's master house.

"Dearest tenant, do you have a wish to get kicked out from ryokan? I have hesitation to take it lightly. Your acts better take it soft and gentle. It's either of us who want to misbehave inappropriately as a willingness to get out of ryokan house."

"I would like to see it soon as you say it courageously in others' eyes."

"I'm leaving your repulsiveness at the school gate," declared Kazuya. They leave each other at it.

Kazuya headed to class with a bit pained hand. Through walking hallway of the classroom aisle, Kazuya held his wrist. The headache will come soon, soon the class start. It'll be predicted as a continuous disaster in his first year of high school life. Which things hadn't wouldn't happen hadn't he moved? Students chattering could be heard from outside. It becomes clearer when he's in the class.

...

"Sit at your own table."

"Mind sharing your answers next sensei asked a question?"

"I don't play games."

...

Daily classmates' conversation is a laugh to Kazuya's ears.

After minutes of waiting, the teacher comes.

He's homeroom as well teacher teaching the historical subject. The subject that will make Kazuya sleep within seconds. He wants to bang his face on the table.

...

"Hairen-sensei looked so gorgeous today too."

"Right, his long and beautiful hair is something to admire."

"His handsome face and glossy soft smooth hair, …"

...

Kazuya slams his head on the desk. It doesn't hurt as expected.
