Samuel didn't quite know how to feel after everything, it was almost like his new instincts had made him completely lose himself, he wondered if this was what it was like to be a lycan or werefolk. Losing themselves to instict, he had never completely lost himself but he had been eager to follow the instict to say the least.
But like the day after he now had clarity in his mind and couldn't help but feel off about the whole thing, he didn't even know her except for a few basic things. He sighed and slowly edged himself out of the their spot in the grass so as not to disturb her sleep.
He made sure to clean and repair whatever clothes he had before getting dressed in them. Some of them had been pretty torn, who could have known that werewolf claws could be so destructive. Night lay in the grass as well, silently judging him and grinning whenever he wasn't looking. Here walked around a big idiot sign, would be proper for him right now.
Unfortunately the time to wake her up came as they had been gone for quite some time, it was already the next morning after all. He was a bit surprised that no one had come looking for them yet which actually filled him with some anxiety.
He quickly shook her enough for her to wake up. Samuel had been kind enough to fix her clothes as well and remove any lingering smell. She stretched happily still wearing the big smile on her face.
Until she seemed to remember what had happened when she started to look around. Her smile turned into a horrid frown as her mind showed her everything that had occured. She looked at Samuel in horror with an open mouth before turning back to the water.
"Fuck, Shit, Fucking Shit!" She swore and hid her face inside her hands. "Fucking heat, I hate it... I hate this curse, fuck!" She started sobbing as her rage turned into every emotion one could imagine.
Samuel walked behind her and knelt down, he placed a hand on her shoulder. "I'm sorry! I didn't know... I should have been more careful!" To which she shook her head and looked at the rocky ceiling.
"Let's just go!" She sighed and took her clothes back and quickly got dressed. "It was literally my last day as well..." She groaned after a while which didn't help how Samuel felt. Although his own memory was fuzzy about the whole thing.
He wondered if she was the cause for such an impact on him and his memory. He didn't quite know what to say either to make her feel better. He could only walk and swim in silence as they started heading back.
Meanwhile he felt that Night was laughing her ass off inside his shadow the entire time, she found the entire thing to be quite hilarious unlike him. The swim back took them an hour or two to complete, it had been quite the distance travelled apperantely.
Samuel seemed to have lost track of time when he swam down there in the first place, he simply had too much fun exploring. When they got out of the water, Samuel quickly heated them with cantrip spells to get rid of the excess water.
They had finally gotten back to the original cavern and walked over the grassy hills with some distance, Samuel purposefully distanced himself to make things less awkward. They saw that their camp was in the middle of being taken down.
Bomfjeord looked up at his daughter when she came back, "Took you long enough to find him... I was getting worried I might need to go find the both of you myself!" He laughed while all the women looked at Samuel with the same question on their lips.
No one said anything of course, but Bregane and Bomfjeord seemed to be quite clueless which made Samuel wonder what all the girls had been doing together the last night since Bomfjeord seemed to be under the impression that his daughter had only been gone for a few hours.
Samuel ignored all the looks and walked up to Bregane and helped by packing down the last things, when everything was said and done and everyone was back in their winter storm clothing they started heading out.
The storm had just about started clearing up which meant that their journey had to continue, a small part of everyone wished to stay there longer, it was such a beautiful and luxurious little gem hidden away from the rest of the world.
Samuel hoped to one day return and explore it further as he was turning his back towards it, the group entered the tunnel to the outside once more and took the tunnel all the way back up.
They reached the cave opening and once securing everything and seeing the storm clear by the second they all took their first steps outside the cave. After walking several meters outside the cavern Bomfjeord and Erethi suddenly froze up and started looking around their surroundings.
"Whats wrong?" Bregane quickly asked Bomfjeord as he started preparing for the worst. "It seems like we were the ones getting hunted all along!" Bomfjeord replied.
The creatures had simply been waiting for them to exit and laid their trap in wait. Suddenly the group heard a growl and several four legged ice drakes came around the cavern and blocked its entrance.
Soon enough they were surrounded by an entire pack. "Wasn't there supposed to be only one?" Tere'he asked in a panic. "Yes there was!" Bregane replied as he took out his weapon from the shadows.
All of them prepared their weapons and took a circle formation. They certainly looked just like smaller land dragons without wings, completely white but plenty of scales that looked more like ice. Their teeth were like rows of crystal ice, getting bit by one would not be such a nice thing.
"Well, Well, Well! Look what the cat dragged in!" A chilly voice suddenly spoke as a semi hooded figure approached riding on one of the ice drakes.
The group flinched, not only was there an entire pack of ice drakes, but there was someone that was 'leading' them! "Sleep now and talk later my friends!" The hooded figure held out his hand and all the ice drakes opened their mouths and breathed rays of frost around the group.
Creating instant cold walls of frost that made them unable to see anything, as if they were in the middle of a storm. The ice slowly crawled up their legs and made them all fall asleep on the spot, except for two people.
Tere'he instantly used a blink spell that teleported her a short distance away and Samuel jumped high up, hidden by the ice storm he could easily fly straight up using his spells. With the great speed he flew up undetected.
Samuel didn't know that someone else had made it out however, until he started seeing flashing lights, from Tere'he casting spell after spell that shattered the ice drakes into ice crystal pieces. She almost danced around as her spells flew in every direction.
Unfortunately there were just too many of them as she got swarmed from every direction. She had to blink away again further away from the group with her heart sinking at the thought of leaving them.
"Oh well, I got what I came for..." The figure spoke and the ice storm disappeared, leaving no trace of the rest of the group. "Finish off the elf!" The figure spoke before turning around and dozens of ice drakes started charging her.
Tere had to blink continously as she continued to fight on against a neverending horde of ice drakes, these were not ice drakes at all... these were ice golems created to look like ice drakes. An almost flawless resemblance.
She casted spell after spell but they didn't stop coming, there were simply too many for her. She had to emergency teleport away and get help, but if she did that then what would happen to the others. They had obviously been taken away by this mysterious figure, but for what purpose was the question.
Suddenly she heard a shockwave emit from the sky and Samuel came crashing down breaking one of the ice drakes into pieces from his speed and force combined. Tere was surprised, she thought she had been the only one to get out.
Samuel quickly jumped back to her side and gave her a nod. He could have easily followed the one who took their friends, but he wouldn't leave another mentor to die, unbeknownst to him she could have saved herself as well but chose not to do so.
Samuel took a deep breath and pulled out the Phoenix Blade from his pocket realm. Drawing the blade instantly, "Flame!" He whispered to the blade, a small vortex of fire lit up around the sword. He raised his arm and shouted. "Flame banish thee fuckers!" With those words he swung his sword and from the vortex several large birds started flying into all directions.
The moment the birds made contact with snow or ice drake, they exploded into fireballs leaving the entire area devastated by explosions all over. Tere'he could only look on in wonder as the remaining horde of ice golems were reduced to water or ice shards.
The birds of fire almost homed in on the ice drake golems.
Samuel took a deep breath as he felt his hand slightly burned from using the magic of the sword. He had not fully learn to listen to it's song yet, it was quite a weird song that was hard to listen to. But he was getting there, but for now he sheated his blade once more and put it back into the pocket dimension.
"So what now?" He asked as he quickly turned to Tere, she was still the mentor in charge now that Bregane was gone. So he had to follow her orders, although he was prepared to disobey anything he disliked and go after them anyway.
