Samuel woke up pretty early, feeling quite well rested already even though the sun had barely started to shine over the horizon. He took a peek under the bedsheet to see Ulma still sleeping soundly while clutching him tight. Guess he wasn't moving unless he intended to wake her at the same time. So far their mentors had not given any instruction to what they would be doing though.
Which meant that until their mentors came for them they would be free to relax a bit. Samuel decided to do a bit of work while laying in bed, he focused on the pocket dimension and pulled out the sword.
He could actually position it so he could draw it directly from its sheathe. So when it was fully pulled, he laid it on his right side that was empty and he started focusing on hearing its song. This went on for quite some time before he finally felt movements from Ulma who seemed to be waking up.
He put the phoenix blade away and he checked on her again by holding up the sheets. His gaze met hers as she looked at him fully awake, "What are you thinking about?" He asked when he saw that she was fully awake and just looking at him.
"....." After a few moments of silence she spoke, "Just how happy I have become and that I owe a lot of that to you." She kissed his chest a few times before dragging her head up to his level and lay next to him.
"Well... That makes two of us I guess!" Samuel happily replied before rubbing his eyes with a yawn, he was starting to find himself tired again when finding himself in her eyes. She simply pulled him closer and they both fell asleep again.
They slept for another hour or so before the early morning was turning into noon, "Maybe we should wake up now..." Samuel said as he gently rocked Ulma back and forth in his arms who proceeded to quietly groan. "Just another five hours...." She whispered as soon as he stopped rocking her.
Samuel couldn't help but chuckle a little at her attitude, but she smiled back and sat up on his chest with a sigh. She slowly took off her nightgown leaving Samuel a very nice striptease show. She smiled as she saw his look, "How about five more minutes now?" She leaned in and whispered before slowly sliding down his chest.
Somewhere along the way she had managed to push down his pants with her feet, she positioned herself correctly before sliding all the way with a moan. She lowered her head and their foreheads touched as they clasped their hands together.
With a happy chuckle and smile she started rocking his world more violently. This went on for several minutes before she started shaking uncontrollably and let out a loud moan of pleasure. At the same time she felt warmth spread all the way up as she slowly lay down on his chest again. Both of them sweaty and out of breath.
"How about that... I guess I found my favourite spot!" She panted with a smile which made him chuckle which caused her to moan a little, "Shhshh still sensitive, be still!" She sighed and gently slapped his chest.
After a few minutes of laying there Ulma finally felt that she needed to clean herself as she quickly got up and ran to the bathroom. But she managed to plant several kisses on Samuel first. Samuel got up himself just a moment later feeling the need to clean himself as well, he joined Ulma in the shower shortly after where they just enjoyed eachothers embrace as they helped clean the one another.
After drying and getting into their clothing they finally went downstairs and saw that all their mentors were assembled together with Sonya and Erica already. The moment Ulma saw them she remembered a very awkward moment and got a blush, unbeknownst to her Samuel had actually fixed the doors silent enchantment so one couldn't hear into his room anymore.
But she did not know that and instead just went down with a completely red face which revealed a lot on its own, but no one questioned it. "It's a good thing the two lovebirds could finally join us!" Bregane mockingly said after a bit of silence.
"I do hope you are well rested and prepared, for we are going on a mission! All of us together! You four will be shadowing us on your first field mission of the second year.... So you better pack some basics in your backpacks, because who knows how long we will be gone!" He raised his hands in the air.
"Where are we going?" Sonya was the first to ask in a quick excited voice while raising her hand and almost jumping on the spot. Tere'he held her hand up in a gesture telling Sonya to calm down, "Unfortunately we cannot disclose this information as of right now, all mission briefs will be made when we reach out destination... Also this is not a field trip, you are going to be shadowing us and assisting us, do you understand what that means?" Tere's voice was cold and serious.
"It means we might as well be going on bloody murder against enemies of state or possible future threats!" Samuel stood tall as he spoke, his demeanor had quickly changed into a serious one that Faleah had drilled into him, right now it was Samuel the Mage Soldier standing at the ready.
Ready to listen to his superiors he gave them a nod. "We should probably get what we might really need, emergency food rations, waterskins, backpacks to hold rope and simple tools. Anything that can be useful!" He had turned to his teammates as he spoke.
"Are you really sure we are going to need such things?" Erica spoke up from the seat, not questioning him but only the general need of such things. "I mean, we can conjure food and water, although tasteless it works... We can also create most things we need with magic!" She unconsciously scratched her head while speaking.
Samuel nodded, "Yes thats all true, but what happens if you run out of magic... cantrips might be useful, but they are not infallible. Thats why combining actual supplies with cantrips is the most effective use of resources."
"As mages our greatest strength lie in magic after all, but arrogance will lead to our death for sure!" Samuel sighed but his teammates all started nodding, once again the silly dense blockhead knew what he was speaking off. Some things he was just really good at. Ulma felt a bit more pride than anyone else, he wasn't stupid although he could be a bit dense he was actually really smart and wise when he wanted to be.
"Well... Well you heard the idiot!" Bregane nodded, "Like he says, go get your things and meet us outside!" The mentors left and their students did as instructed. When they came out Bregane groaned loudly to his fellow mentors, "Any more of that and he will no longer be a dense idiot in my eyes!" He could do nothing but complain to his fellow mentors whom all agreed with his words in silence.
It took their students a few minutes before they all came out with some basic survival gear. Part of the colleges program everything was already provided, although many of the richer students had never been used to that kind of rough survival, so they needed help with basics. While those who came from more common backrounds knew the basics usually.
"Alright, looks like you are all assembled and prepared to go!" Bregane said after checking them out for a few seconds, making sure they had some proper stuff. "Time for some action finally!" Sarmah the Dragonkin mentor spoke with a toothy grin. As they together formed a small band that walked together towards the Chamber of Dimensions - which was the huge teleportation building.
The regular walk there was quickly done and they entered and did a security check or two before walking to a new teleportation circle off on the side. The mentors said nothing and although their students wanted to ask and know more they didn't because they respected their own mentors that much.
The mage in charge of the circle gave the group a nod as they had all assembled on the circle, before flicking a switch and soon enough runes started dancing all around them while the runes on the ground lit up.
From being inside one old looking building, in a flash they were suddenly inside another building where soldiers of Rejuan were running back and forth with reports or wounded.
