Chereads / Trapped with the demon Lord / Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

The next morning wasn't like any other morning that Lucy ever had. On a normal day, the chirping of birds would wake her up or the sun's rays of light but not here. The morning still looked as though it was evening. Even though she couldn't see this, she could take a far look from where her bed was to the window where air came in.

Lara came into the room to bring breakfast to her as she met her already awake.

"Good morning Cha Lee." Lara greeted her.

"My name is Lucy." Lucy said to her.

"No offense Lucy." She said to her as she dropped the food by the bedside.

"Breakfast is here." Lara said to Lucy but she was least interested in it.

"Can I ask you something?" Lara asked Lucy. She didn't say anything to her as she remained silent.

"What happened last night?" Lara asked her but Lucy didn't want to talk.

"Nothing." Lucy replied to her.

"Well…I heard you mention something to kill…did you kill anyone in your past life before you came here?" Lara asked Lucy but she just ignored her.

"Look, I can help you only if you decide to open up to me." Lara said to her.

"Help me? When I asked for your help to get out of here you refused and now you want to help me?" Lucy asked Lara with anger in her voice.

"Look, I've told you severally…it's not my wish to see you like this. I'm just following orders which are attached to my life." Lara said to her.

"Well that's enough. I don't want to hear any crap from you or your so-called master." Lucy said to her as she turned her face away from her.

Lara took a deep breath as she looked at her.

"How old are you?" Lara asked Lucy.

"I am thirteen." Lucy replied to her question.

"Where are your parents?" Lara asked Lucy again.

"You asked me that last night and I didn't reply to you so why do you think I would want to now?" Lucy asked Lara with coldness in her voice.

"Hmmm….I have a story to share with you." Lara said to Lucy after taking a deep sigh.

"Keep your lame stories to yourself. I'll get out of here somehow. I don't need your help." Lucy said to her as she bit her finger nails.

"I had a daughter. Her name is Yen. I lost her a few years ago. She is your age mate but she lives in a different world from me. Master took her away from me and the last time I checked, I lost contact with her. She is serving the demon Lord somewhere with her life. She is into sex slavery." Lara told her story to Lucy as tears ran down her eyes.

"Each time I see you, I think of her. She is just as helpless as you are and even when she was with me, I still couldn't help her." Lara continued as she began to cry.

"Then why didn't you save her? Why did you let her get taken away from you? You are a bad mother aren't you?" Lucy said to Lara rather harshly.

"You can say that but I know I have always been a good mother to her. The demon Lord does whatever he wants with her." She said to Lucy whose eyes bulged out.

"Did you try to save her? What did he do to her?" Lucy asked Lara who was quiet for some time then all of a sudden, her countenance changed. She got up from where she sat and pointed at the food tray.

"Take your breakfast and I'll be back to clear it. More so, master will be seeing you tonight so sleep well and I'll come back later to dress you up." Lara said to Lucy.

"Who is the demon Lord?" Lucy asked Lara as she had been hearing that name from her but never got the chance to ask after him.

"Do as I say and stop asking questions! We never had a conversation, okay?" Lara said to Lucy as she turned to go.

"Why is the master seeing me tonight? I thought I wasn't allowed to see him and more so, will I be leaving the room to see the master?" Lucy asked Lara as she was curious to know.

"I'll get further instructions from him but do as I say." She said to Lucy and left the room.

Lucy had a mild smile on her face. She had mixed feelings of joy and sadness. She was sad because she was going to see the master who was arrogant and made everyone fear him. She was also happy that she was finally going to leave her room and see the outside world but not just that, she also saw this as an opportunity to escape and run back home. All she needed was to put up her plans carefully on how to escape.

Thoughts of seeing the master for the first time sucked out the life in her. What if he wanted to hurt her? What if he wanted to harm her? She remembered the story that the old lady said to her and wondered why she told her. Was she trying to warn her in advance? She was now getting goosebumps as fear gripped her.

She decided to hide a small weapon with her when she eventually leaves to see the master. If he tried to hurt her, she would use it on him to save herself. But first, she felt sad because she knew nowhere in this place. She didn't know if she would be able to trace her way back home.

She sat on the bed as she was deep in thoughts when her eyes drifted to the cupboard again. She looked at it and imagined what must be in it. Probably just old ancient books she thought as she wondered who even owned the room.

She noticed that each time she paid attention to it, she felt strange. She ignored the feeling and took her breakfast after which the nanny came back into the room.

"Done with breakfast already?" She asked her as she nodded.

"Can I ask something about Lara?" Lucy asked her.

"Sure." Lara said to her as she covered up the plates together.

"Was there anyone that stayed in this room before?" Lucy asked her as she kept straight eyes to observe her facial expressions.

"Why did you ask?" Lara asked Lucy as she didn't look at her but continued with what she was doing.

"The books…it looked as though someone lived here before. It looks old but still intact so I was wondering if someone had stayed in this room before." Lucy said to her intelligently without arousing any suspicions.

"Yes. A girl once lived here." Lara said to Lucy without suspecting anything.

"Where is she now?" Lucy asked her.

"I don't know. Master took her away." Lara replied to her with her cold voice again.

"Did she or anyone die here?" Lucy asked her and Lara stopped what she was doing immediately as the plate fell off her hand. Her hand was shaking as she looked frozen. Lucy paid attention to all her body expressions as she looked at her closely. There seemed to be something Lara was hiding from her.

"Are you okay?" Lucy asked her as she waited for her to reply to her question.

"I've told you not to talk anyhow. Don't you dare ask me such a question!" She blurted out.

"But you told me that I can ask you anything." Lucy said to her and she remained silent as she felt defeated.

"Look young girl, I don't want to die and if you also want to live then keep shut." Lara said to Lucy as she wheeled away the table and took the plates out of the room.
