I was close to reaching the hands of these bloodlust creatures as they almost got me. I shut my eyes and hot tears flowed freely while I awaited my painful death from being eaten by zombies.
As if released from a rope, I fell quickly as I screamed at the rate at which I fell when suddenly, I noticed I was hanging in the air, very close to the zombies who were waiting to have me as breakfast for the day.
I opened my eyes as I looked up and saw the monster flew down and carried me off, high up into the dark sky. My blood was the only thing left for the zombies to lick.
Lucy woke up after a long deep sleep in a bed of royalty. Her room was big enough and contained all a royal teenage girl was supposed to have. It was well furnished and beautified. She looked around as she took note of every little detailing in the room.
"Woken up already." A lady said to Lucy as she perceived she was talking to me but she couldn't see anyone in the room. She didn't know if her statement was a question or not.
"You've slept for so long." She said to Lucy again as she saw her from behind a pillar in the room. She was holding a bowl which contained a black liquid in it with a towel.
"Who are you?" Lucy asked the lady who looked elderly.
"I am your nanny. Call me Lara." The old lady replied to Lucy rather coldly.
"For how long have I slept?" Lucy asked her.
"For a couple of days." Lara replied to her as she took a seat on the big wooden chair and she started to clean Lucy's soft and succulent skin.
"What? What happened to me? Where am I?" Lucy Vegan asked Lara as she blurted out her questions which seemed to irritate the old lady.
"What happened to you doesn't matter. I'll read you the instructions the master ordered me to. You need to know them for your safety here." The nanny said as she was done with cleaning her up.
"What instructions and what master?" Lucy asked Lara as she stood up and picked up a rolled sheet which was on the dressing table. She came back to her seat and sat down heavily and took a deep breath.
"A letter to Cha Lee Chun. You must not go outside the walls of your confinement without permission at least, you'll die.
You must not eat from any table except that which is presented to you least, you die.
You must not leave your room without my orders at least, you die.
You must not look me directly in the eye, lest you die.
You must not enter the forbidden room least you… "
"Die! That's enough!! Who is your master and why is he threatening me?" Lucy asked Lara.
"That's also written in the letter. You must not ask who he is or…"
"I die." Lucy completed the statement for her.
"Good. Now don't stress me and let me do my job Cha Lee." The old lady said to her.
"My name is Lucy Vegan if you don't mind." I said to her but she just looked at me and smirked.
I wondered why she acted so cold towards me. She left the room and reappeared with a tray of food which she wheeled on a table towards me.
"That's your dinner. If you need anything else you can press the black button on your bedside and I'll come immediately. Do you have any questions?" Lara asked me.
"I have a lot of questions that only you can answer for now. I need to know where I am." Lucy said to the old woman.
"Where are your parents?" Lara asked me and my heart dropped. Lucy didn't give a reply to her question. Lara noticed that she looked sad and quiet.
"It's fine if you don't want to talk about it. I have to go now. I'll come back later to take away the plates." Lara was sad as she turned and left. Lucy noticed the sadness in Lara's eyes. She must have been cold to her for some reason but she seems to be a nice lady.
Lucy was done with her meal and reclined back in the bed as she stared at the ceiling. She was looking for a means of escaping when she saw a small window by the left side of the room.
She got out of bed and walked towards it when she heard a voice behind her.
"Get away from there!" Lucy heard a voice which sounded like Lara's. She turned to look at her and wondered why she yelled at her. It was just an ordinary window.
"Why? It's just a window." Lucy said to Lara as Lara went towards her and jerked her by the arm.
"Listen to me girl, don't you dare do anything stupid that could cost my life. Do you understand me?" Lara said in a thunderous voice which scared the nerves out of me.
"But it's just a window…" I said to her in a trembling voice.
"I don't care what it is to you but stay away from walls and openings in this room! I'm not going to warn you again!" Lara said to me which frightened me more.
"But why? How am I supposed to see the world outside? Am I trapped in here?" Lucy asked Lara as tears streamed down her face.
"Yes. You are kind of trapped in here and there is no way that you can see the world." Lara said to her.
"What will happen if I cross to the other part of this room?" Lucy asked, wanting to know the consequence of her intended actions.
