Guilt can make a person feel so many things, and it is not a very good feeling if you have a conscience. While jealousy will make a person do things without thinking about the consequences until it's too late.
Wang Feng-Huang, be careful of that word guilt.
Wang May, jealousy is not a good look. Especially on a beautiful girl like you.
"My daughter, no one wants a bad life for you. But you can't fight for what the heart wants, and you can't envy those that get what they desire. You just have to wait for your time. And who knows, maybe your general childe will come and sweep you off your feet." Wang Guang spoke up. Moving from his brother and going to his daughter. Holding her face with both hands, but May wasn't having it. She slapped his hands away from her face and laughed bitterly at no one in particular.
"You think I care about what happened here, no. I am just sad that I was used as a pawn. But know this, if Feng Gao ever comes to me asking me to help him take Kai down. I wouldn't hesitate to take him up on his offer."
"You evil she demon!" Taio shouted. And May smirk nastily at him.
"At least I am not hanging up on someone who will never love me, while hurting the one that truly does." She glared over at Shufen, who avoided eye contact with her.
Taio scratched his head in confusion, wondering who that crazy girl could possibly be talking about. Before he followed her glaring gaze, he saw a nervous looking Shufen.
"What are you looking at me like that for? Do you actually believe what she is saying?" Shufen quickly said, still not looking at Taio.
"So sad, none of you will not continue your family name. Because everyone knows that men can't reproduce." May laughed, and pointed at the four young men.
"T-that's not true, they are special herbs that are used for offspring fertilisation." Taio spoke again, his lips in a pout. Which got Shufen cooing inwardly at the sight."
May continued to throw a tantrum, which Wang Guang couldn't take anymore. And he just snapped at her again. "May, stop this now! You are in grief and heartbroken and you don't know how to handle it, please just stop and let me take you home." A pleading look in his eyes. But May was far gone, consumed with hatred and rage.
"I am not heartbroken or grieving. No, I am vengeful."
"And that is why we should work together to find Kai and Qing Yuan so we can take down Feng Gao and Fong Woo." Zhang smiled, thinking that maybe his sister isn't so heartless and selfish. But his smile faded when she uttered her words.
"Haha, you think I am angry with Feng Gao? No, I am beyond pissed at Kai. And when I do find him, I won't hesitate to end him!" She laughs darkly and turns towards the door. "And oh, by the way. Zhang, I think your suitor is about to lose his mother as well. She doesn't look too good."
Everyone turned to queen Li Jia, and Li Wei was just in time to catch her before she hit the ground. He checked her body and realised that she had been cursed. Her body slowly but surely turned into coal, and it reached her heart. Where the curse is more deadly.
"Mother!" Li Jie ran over to where his parents were.
"Oh, such a shame. Everyone was rushing to attend to the queen, but no one ran to help the mediocre woman when Fong Woo was ripping her heart out. So sad, isn't it father? Even your dear junior brother that caused all of this destruction has left you to help the queen."
Wang Guang didn't say anything, he just disappointedly watched as his daughter turned on her heels and walked up to the door. Stepping over her mother's body, and walking out the door like nothing happened.
Wang Guang couldn't do anything but watch as his daughter walked away, the atmosphere around her becoming corrupt. All the emotions and exhaustion of the day came rushing back to him, making his body become weak. And he sagged from side to side, before collapsing on the ground.
Zhang, who was busy scowling and fuming at the spot where Wang May was just a minute ago, heard the loud thud and turned in the direction to see his father lying on the ground unconscious.
"Father!" He yelled, gaining attention from the group tending to the queen.
Wang Feng-Huang runs over to where his unconscious brother is, testing his pulse to see if he is still alive. He placed one of his hands on Wang Guang's chest, and the other on his forehead. Light began to glow, as he trailed his pointer finger from Guang's forehead to his chest where Feng-Huang's other hand was placed. He eases his finger up, before bringing it back down onto his chest with a bit of force but not enough to hurt him.
"There." He murmured. "You are going to be ok big brother." He smiled down at his senior brother's face, which looked more peaceful and stress free than how he had looked not just a few seconds ago. 'Don't worry, I will make all this right. I might not be able to bring your face back, but I can give you justice for her death.' Wang Feng-Huang heard sniffling beside him, and he turned and saw that it was coming from Zhang. He gently placed a hand on his nephew's shoulder, before pulling him in for a hug. "Don't worry, we will make this better. I am going to make those two bastards pay for what they had done." He calmly rubbed Zhang's back, as the boy cried buckets of tears. But Wang Feng-Huang was anything but calm. But what he was most worried about. Worried for his brother, his nephew, even his heartless niece. But nothing compared to his worry's for Kai. 'Kai, anywhere you and the young prince are. I only hope that you are both alright. God please let him be ok.' He said a little prayer, hugging his two family members close to him. Ignoring the hustling and bustling going on around him.
A few hours had passed, and Wang Feng-Huang had seen it all. Counted every lifeless body they had moved, watched as they stretched back Sue-May's heart back into her chest. Before one of the older Mage seals it shouts with some purifying magic, and moves her body to a safe place until Guang is ready to take her to her final resting place. He had seen it, and he worried more about Kai. He sat on the bloodstained floor, his brother still unconscious and his nephew had fallen asleep, and he silently cried. Until he reached exhaustion. His eyes drooped and was about to be closed, when an ear shattering scream sounded throughout the room. He jumps upright, and looks into the direction of the commotion. And that's when he realised that the Dragon queen had succumbed to the curse. And his dear friend and cultivation brother, Li Wei was the one that cried out.
