Cassy continued running as her wolf maneuvers through the bushes in order to escape the prince who was chasing her. She knew this would happen so she had been preparing how to escape since she heard her father's words.
As Cassy ran, she went deeper into the forbidden forest. She knew she wasn't supposed to be there but she had no choice. She had to escape from him and stay away at least till after the coming of age ceremony.
She looked back to see if she had lost Rowland. She couldn't perceive his scent anymore as she finally stopped running. She changed back to her human form and broke down into tears.
Cassy cried so hard as she slumped to the ground as spikes scratched her body. Even when she was beaten by her father once in a while, she never cried this hard. The last time she cried this hard was when her mother died.
