Chapter 17 - Chapter 17 : Siblings

Both Riolu And Rai ran on opposite sides, Treant stopped but chose to follow Riolu since it thought Rai can be killed easily after it solves Riolu.

Rai ran towards gate and riolu was being pursued by Treant, suddenly Riolu jumped backwards stunning treant. Because of friction Treant wasn't able to stop immediately which gave Riolu some time to use quick attack with remaining energy to catch upto Rai.

Riolu got near to the gate but it was losing consciousness because of overusing it's spirit energy. All Riolu could see was it's eyes getting covered by darkness that made it realized that it can't hold on anymore. The only thought it had in mind was to hope that Rai can escape safely , before losing consciousness it felt someone's touch.
It was Rai.

He didn't waste time and carried Riolu towards the gate following him was the treant with deadly expression. It couldn't believe that it's prey totally outsmarted it. Rai looked back and saw that he didn't have much time , if he kept running like that surely treant will catch upto them.

Rai finally decided to use it's aura energy since Rai is newbie who didn't have enough control over aura it would be a huge impact on his body. But without caring a bit about it, he infused all the aura on his legs to run faster making him dash towards the gate at unbelievable speed.

Rai jumped, behind him Treant also jumped. Rai was able to see Treant so clear at that moment. It all depended on luck that whether Rai would cross the gate or might become food of Treant.

Treant opened it's mouth but Rai showed determination then he kicked the forehead of Treant giving him more force enough to pass the gate. Treant saw that Rai got away and got angry.

"screchhhhhhhhh" It screeched in anger.
Creating a crater on ground by his punch because of anger it started going back to it's nest.

On the other side of gate, Rai was breathing heavily lying on the ground near him was Riolu in unconscious state. Rai sent riolu to beast space, since it had natural ability to heal Pets when they get injured during fight. Rai couldn't lift his eyes much after that and fainted too.

******After few hours*********
"Brother do you think he would be fine" a girl's voice was heard.
"Yeah since he is still breathing" beside her a boy replied.

"Arghhh" Rai groaned and slowly woke up. It was hard time opening his eyes, but slowly he was able to get a clear vision of his surroundings.

All he saw was a normal room made up of bricks. He looked around and suddenly his eyes fell on a young boy who was around 15 and a little girl hiding behind him who looked around 10, she was sneaking and peeking at Rai behind the boy's back.

"You guys" Rai got confused as why he was there and who were these two.
"We found you unconscious near the gate of realm , since it was night time there were not many people. That's why we had to bring you here" Boy replied.

Suddenly Rai remembered that he was chased down by that Variant Treant.
He must have been saved by these two.
"Thanks for your help , your name? " Rai asked.

"My name is harold and and this is my sister daisy" Boy replied. But he looked warily at Rai, Since he was the only person there it couldn't be helped if Rai suddenly attack them.

It was easy for Rai to know that they are wary of him, But he didn't try to justify himself as it will make them more fearful.

"Can I get a glass of water " Requested Rai.
Harold hesitated for a moment but eventually brought a glass of water for Rai.
Rai drank it and felt refresh.

"What were you doing near Realm gate though? ", Rai was curious to know since you can't see young people there without a Guardian. If you were below 18 , you had to bring a guardian with you who would be responsible for your safety otherwise Association wouldn't give any entry tokens.

"I help Beastmasters lifting their spoils to earn some wages " Replied Harold.
Rai got the gist of things. It was quite common for poor people to help Beastmasters in return of getting something. Mostly commoners do it since life is tough in this world.

"Are you awakened?" asked Rai.
"I don't have enough money to go for awakening" Replied Harold with dim eyes..

"It seems like you can't have any status without money, be it in this world or Earth" realizing the issue Rai sighed.
"I understand"Nodded Rai.

He looked at Harold and daisy again, through Aura he was able to see that their souls were pure without contaminated by any malicious aura.
He decided to make a bet.

"Say if i give you a chance of getting awakened, will you grab it? " questioned Rai.
After saying that he looked at Harold and wanted to hear his answer

At that moment Harold was surprised to the core for being asked like that. This question was out of blue for Harold. He looked at his sister who was looking at him with pure gaze, if it was just him he wouldn't have mind to stay there and try to earn wages until he die.

But for his sister he had to make sure they live better than the slums they currently were in. He wanted to give all happiness to his little sister, until now he was working for his sister so that she never sleep empty stomach ever.

So for the question of Rai , he would never miss it even if Rai was bluffing, it wouldn't hurt Harold a bit. Since they don't posses anything that can make Rai greedy of it.

"Yes i would", Replied Harold.
Rai smiled, he knew Harold would never decline that offer. Even if it was someone else they would never be able to decline such offer. becoming a Beastmaster is primary dream of every human being living in this world.

Being a Beastmaster not only would help you to go ahead of life it also raises your status in society. No matter where Beastmaster goes they will be treated with respect by common citizens.

"Good, let me introduce myself first" Rai said.
"My Name is Rai Izanagi Principal of Starlight College " Rai formerly introduced himself.

Harold's eye pupils shrunk , never in his dream he would expect himself to save a principal of a college. But soon he frowned , no matter how you look, Rai seemed too young to be Principal.

Rai saw the changing expression of Harold and smiled, he understood what Harold was thinking. But he didn't mind since it would become clear to Harold once he bring him to college.

" Why don't you come to Starlight College and see it for yourself" Rai gave a suggestion.
Harold hesitated a bit but nodded since it wouldn't be a big deal to actually see it. If Rai was saying truth then it would be a life changing moment for them.

"Anyway thanks for helping me out, come there tommorow i will let you be awakened human" Said Rai.
Rai stood up and started leaving, giving a last look to Harold and his sister he went out.

Soon he got out of slums entering in main market, he brought some food for him and Alicia for dinner. It was soon to be night time , people were going back to their homes after a long time of work.

Some seemed tired while some looked energetic. Everyone was busy minding their own business, where as kids there were laughing and running making a ruckus amongst themselves.

After some time he reached at the gate of Starlight College, he went in. Arriving near the dorm Rai decided to look for Alicia, so he went to her room.

But room was closed and it was too quiet.
"Guess she had worked hard whole day rendering her sleepy in early hours of night." Muttered Rai.

Rai shook his head giving a wry smile and decided not to disturb her.
The night was as miraculous as usually it is, the darkness looming on the world was too calm.
