Synopsis

Chapter 1 - The information

To explain everything without having to in the story, I've put the history of the UFSA, along with some technologies names, to avoid confusion. Read this chapter if you want to know the history, and come back to this chapter if you ever feel confused. Will update

Federal monarchy system-

As used in the UFSA, the federal monarchy system uses 3 branches.

An Emperor (or Emperador as used in the story) creates the important legislation( also that does not involve him or the Senate) and is the charge of passing the legislation submitted by the senate. The title is decided by the senate from the royal families but if the public asks for a specific person, they must be put into power unless the peoples' council, senate, and if possible, current Emperador veto the decision.

The Senate is in charge of passing the Emperador's legislation and can declare an act of the peoples' council unlawful. It is compromised of one member per Federative (nation inside UFSA) elected every 25 years by the people inside the federative.

The peoples' council is in charge of deciding small legislation inside the regions and handles disputes between regions. The branch is comprised of members elected by their regions, one per region. These regions are drawn on cultural and economical lines. There are currently 243 members in the peoples' council.

The controlled economy of the UFSA (old and new)-

The economy of the UFSA is heavily government-controlled in the fact they decide who can open up a business and where. They can open up multiple companies in a sector to increase competition, or they could leave one company to decrease confusion and allow the government to set prices for goods. For instance, there are multiple oil refiners and drillers in the UFSA, but there is only one gas and diesel seller that is run by the government.

Old- goods could be exported, but rarely were they imported. The UFSA would usually purchase the blueprints for a product rather than buying the object. This led to heavy industrialization and a strong economy, but a lack of diversity in products for the UFSA people.

New- allowed for outside companies to begin selling inside UFSA borders. That's about all that changed, but it did give the UFSA McDonalds, so...

History-

1772 (first convention of the Americas)- Peru and Colombia, both Spanish colonies, meet to discuss the Spanish control over the region and make a plan for war with Spain.

1776 (second convention of the Americas)- Peru and Colombia meet with Brazil, another Spanish colony, to form an alliance. This discussion leads to them agreeing to become a centrally governed state after the war with the Spanish.

1780 (the grand revolution)- seeing an opening in the form of the Spanish fighting in the American revolution, Peru and Colombia launch their revolutions, followed by Brazil. The Peruvians and Colombians easily overthrow the Spanish due to 8 years of planning, but fighting in Brazil continues for some time. Other colonies also began to revolt. These are Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Ecuador.

1793 (Treaty of Vienna)- the Spanish are all but completely ousted from the colonies and so, signs a treaty. This releases the 7 colonies from Spanish rule and they are officially recognized.

1794 (The grand Unification of 1794)- 3 months after the victory over the Spanish, Colombia, Brazil, and Peru united into the United Democratic states of South America, under a democratic government.

1799 (The 2nd Grand Unification)- fearing a Spanish takeover in Argentina and the struggling former colonies( Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Ecuador), the UDSSA invites them into the nation. They all agree and are formally annexed 2 months later.

1823 (America's defensive treaty of 1823)- a treaty between the USA and UDSSA to defend the Americas from all European aggression

1835 (Chile implementation act)- integrated Chile into the UDSSA

1836 ( South American Civil War )- angered by how the senate was running the country, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Brazil, and Chile broke away under a monarchy.

1841 (The grand reunification)- the Civil War ends with a compromise. A federal monarchy system is implemented, the second after Poland, and is renamed the United Federation of South America

1850 (Mexico implementation act)- after the resounding defeat by America, Mexico requests to be and is integrated into the UFSA.

1852 (Guatemala implementation act)- integrated Guatemala into the UFSA

1852 (the 3rd Grand Unification)- integrated Bolivia, Honduras, Venezuela, and Paraguay into the UFSA.

1856 (French Guiana acquisition treaty) because of economic problems in France, French Guiana is sold to the UFSA, being renamed Guiana.

1880- (Spanish-American war) sometimes called the 2nd Spanish war, this came after the Spanish were caught supplying warring native tribes in Guiana.

1882 (1882 Treaty of Washington D.C.) due to the UFSA superior navy and guerilla tactics, the UFSA easily defeated the Spanish, securing Cuban independence and obtaining Guam, Peurto Rico, Guyana, Suriname, Uruguay, and the Philippines. The UFSA paid Spain 50,000,000 pesos ( 25,000,000 USD) or 1,400,000,000 pesos today. This war ended the Spanish empire and settled their 100-year rivalry.

1883 (Cuban implementation act)- integrated Cuba into the UFSA

1894 (100 years parade)- the largest parade in history at that time. Consisted of 200,000 soldiers that marched for 2 miles.

1915 (the great depression)- An economic disaster that affected almost every country in the world. The UFSAs population did not suffer as heavily due to the heavily controlled economy but the treasury was emptied and government funding was cut for things like the mentally ill, the military, and healthcare. Did not fully recover till 1953.

1930-1950 (WW2)- The main powers were UFSA, USA, France, USSR VS. the UK, Empire of Japan, Nazi Germany, Italy, Netherlands. The UFSA performed very poorly due to its outdated tactics and equipment, but it was on the winning side. It gained the colony of Indonesia. Disputes over the Falklands continued for some time.

1954 (Great Military Reform)- after WW2, the largest military bill ever in the UFSA was passed to modernize its equipment.

1960- UFSA becomes nuclear-capable

1975 (Falklands war)- First war against 2 nuclear-capable nations. Despite its numerical advantage, the UFSA lost against the United Kingdom due to a lack of logistical equipment. Incited the Second Great Military reform

1980 (Somali incursions)- After UFSA shipping was attacked by Somali pirates, the UFSA invaded and stabilized the country. Established a stable government and military to police the nation.

1984 (first multi-national moon mission)- after years of planning, the USA, UFSA, UK, and France send a crewed mission to the moon, landing the 15th-23rd man on the moon.

1990 (Chinese Civil war intervention)- due to the instability of nuclear-capable China, the UFSA invades and sets up a federal monarchy government. Occupies parts of China till 2002.

1992 (NATO breakup)- after the breakup of the USSR, America believed that the members were not doing their part and it leaves NATO, causing a collapse of the alliance 2 months later

1994 (first wide ocean horizons treaty signing)- without the global police force that was NATO, the UFSA, France, Ukraine, China, and several other countries form a new alliance dedicated to preserving world peace

1994 (200 years parade)- the 2nd largest military parade in history, after the American WW2 victory parade, consisting of 350,000 soldiers and 1200 vehicles

1998(Global Peace Protection Act)-the wide ocean horizons alliance meets and signs a pledge to 'defeat and stabilize all hostile factions in the name of world peace'. The following 8 wars after would become known as the peace wars

2000 (Economic reform)- The heavily controlled UFSA economy was opened up to outside companies leading to fierce competition and heavy development in the UFSA.

2024-2032(Yemen intervention)-as part of the wide ocean horizons alliances 'peace wars', the UFSA and other member states intervened against the rebels forces. Because of smart weapons supplied by the UK, the war became the bloodiest since the Chinese Civil war(6,750 soldiers from the wide ocean horizons). Ended the 'peace wars' and the global peace protection act was repealed

2034 (the day of a new life) by some mysterious and extraordinary event, the UFSA, its colonies, and military bases are transported to another world.
