Mr.William's welcomed us warmly into his restaurant.
"The place looks pretty quiet?" said Alex looking around.
"Ah, yes today I closed the restaurant. And I just wanted to treat you all," said Mr.William. His wife accompanied him today and she especially took care of our wives.
"A celebration or something?" asked Meg.
"No mama. He just wanted to treat you to some of his homemade food. Well, he used to cook for Noah personally and now he gets the same pleasure by cooking for you," explained his wife.
"OH that's so kind of you Mr.William," said Meg who was already fascinated by the aromas around them.
"How are you doing, Sarah?" he asked.
"Kind of alright. But the medication makes me dizzy most of the time,"
"She really needs to rest, but according to her work comes first. So we had to bring her to the office," I said looking at her who was looking like a little girl being scolded.
"I think it's good. A little bit of a change in place is good for the mind," said Mr.Willam in her defense.
While we chatted, he went on to prepare the meal for us. He had made a lot of delicacies specially with Sarah in mind.
"Hmm,,, smells heaven,y, Mr.William's," said Meg.
"Thank you, Ms.Meg. The soup is a special family recipe. It's good for your body and relaxes your mind. I specially made it for Sarah,"
"So kind of you, sir," said Sarah having a taste of it. "Ben, it's so good. I think can have this every day, if you will make it Mr.William's"
"Well, this is a special soup that you can only have once a week. If Ben gives me permission, I will make this and send you once every week," he said looking at me.
"Since she loves it so much, how can I trouble you with your work," I asked looking at him and then at Sarah, who was enjoying the soup without a care in the world.
"It's no trouble, I will make it for her. I miss making it since Noah is not here," he said looking out of the window far away somewhere.
The meal was really enjoyable. His wife is a very sweet person and a person who can bring a happy atmosphere to a room. She has taken a liking to Sarah especially.
"Ben, I found something with Noah's things," said Mr.William going out to the office to bring something. The thing he bought was a book.
"Mr.Willam, is it ok to go through this?" I asked.
"Yes, there's a picture I want you to see,"
Inside there was a picture taken many years ago. We were kids looking out at the night lights and eating ice cream.
"It's us," said Alex looking at Mr.Williams.
"I don't know why he kept this picture with him always. This book was something he had since he was about eight years and he had scribbled once in a while,"
"Sarah, see Dave is here too, holding you," I said turning to her. In this photo, she was looking at the person who took the photo, while Dave was trying to wipe off the ice cream all over her face.
"You look cute," said Alex teasing Sarah.
"What about you?" she said pointing at him in the photo. Who was also covered with melting ice cream corn?
"He he... You know I was silly those days,"
"Yes you were pretty playful and always got into trouble," I said remembering that day. "And were you able to see the dinosaurs Mr.Knight in shining armor?"
"That was a prank played by uncle Holland and I believed it," said Alex covering his face with his hands.
We all laughed at the old story and the embarrassed Alex who hid his face. It's nice to go back to those good old days. But something was lingering in my mind.
"Mr.William's did Noah ever mention anything about this photo?"
"Not really. but he always kept it with him and this book. Even the day he passed, the book was under his pillow as he had requested before going into a coma,"
"Must be something really important to him," said Meg going through the book.
But what was so special about this photo and this book? I looked at Alex, who looked at me with the same expression.
