While the others kept on talking I went to check on Sarah. She was absorbed in a drawing she was doing. Watching her took me back to the first few days I met her.

"Sir," Markus came to me a few days after we joined the university.
"What's up, Markus?"
"I heard Alex talking about a girl who will be working with you,"
"Aha... sorry, I forgot to tell you. She is Sarah same department as me. We have a history report to do together," I said as I remember my father has always requested a background check on anyone I meet up with.
"Did my father say something?"
"No sir. But I think I should just say that I will have to do a background check on her," he said as if he was saying sorry.
"I know. It's ok, but don't let her find out. Sarah and her friend don't know who we are still," I said with a smile on my face. What will happen when she knows who I am, yeah she will be shocked.
I talked with her and we worked for a few days in the library on our project. So I got to know her a little bit more. She was a bit shy and reserved, as well as her work was neat and proper. While most girls I know go shopping and clubbing she spent time designing and reading. And I found out that she was a writer in secret.
"Sir, why did you ask me to get these books?" asked Markus one day coming with ten books in total.
"Wow!!! you didn't find out in your 007 searches?" I asked him.
"Huh!!"
"These were written by Sarah, her pen name is Lost.,"
"How did you find out?" He said in surprise.
I just laughed.
"One day her laptop had an issue, so I bought it back to fix it and accidentally bumped into her scripts,"
A few more days passed and I started to like spending time with her. As for Alex my idiotic friend, he was trying hard to get Meg to be his friend. Who seems to look at Alex as a spoiled brat. Two of them are enough to entertain us for days.
After about a week or so I didn't see Sarah at all. So I looked for Meg,
"Meg,"
"Oh, hi, what's up?" she said cheerfully but I can see she was avoiding me.
"What's wrong, Meg? Where is Sarah?" asked Alex, maybe he felt a difference in her.
"hmm.."
"Come on tell us?" he urged again.
"Sarah had a little accident," she said looking down.
"Is it serious?" I asked.
"What happened?" asked Alex.
"She just slipped and got a slight fracture in her wrist. But she will be ok after about a month,"
"Ok, may I know when she will come back for lectures?" I asked.
"Mostly in about two or three days, and Ben, please stay away from her," said Meg.
I was shocked and before we can ask anything more she ran away to her faculty.
"Markus, I want you to find out what exactly happened to Sarah," I was so worried about her. I mean a slight fracture is enough to damage her future. What's more, I want to go and see her.
"Ben,"
"Yeah, Alex,"
"You ok?"
"Hmm..but what happened to her?"
"Well do you know that Smith family daughter - Jane or Joy - whatever, she is also in this uni,"
I looked at Alex.
"She had spread a rumor that both your families have arranged your marriage, and Sarah was interfering with it,"
"WHAT!!!!!"
"I also heard that the Smiths are planning on doing some publicity stunt,"
As soon as this was said my father called,
"HI, how are you?"
"I am doing ok. Son, Markus told me what was going on with the Smiths,"
"I feel bad for Sarah, they have verbally abused her,"
"And hurt her too. They are the ones who pushed her down the stairs," he said angrily.
"What are we going to do about the rumors and these harmful acts?"
"Don't worry, I will take care of it. I have proof of that girl harassing and harming Sarah,"
"Thank you, father,"
"Son, did you meet Sarah?"
"No father. She has gone home for a few days. But after this situation calms down, I will go visit her,"
"Ok son, Uncle Holland will help to clear things up as Sarah has not filed a complaint against that girl,"
"Ok, father," and I said to myself, "She is too good,"
I told Alex everything while Markus joined us telling more details which made Alex furious.
We got to know that the Smith girl was expelled from the university, and at the same time a piece of certain gossip news started to circulate saying,
"Smith cause trouble, expelled from prestigious uni"
"Mr.Cliffard rejects Smith's proposal"
"Clifford's aquatint falsely accused, and Smith expelled"
and so on.
After a few days, we met Meg. She thanked us for saving Sarah's reputation and her good name.
"Meg, when is Sarah coming back?" I asked.
"hmm..hard to say. She was feeling a bit down and her parents wanted to rest for a few more days."
"oh ok.."
"Do you like her, I mean in a serious way?" she asked suddenly.
"Sarah is his first love, Ms. Tomboy," said Alex, while sipping some cold drink.
"Seriously?" she asked, I nodded as to say yes.
"Will it be ok to visit her at home?" I asked as I was not sure if it was appropriate.
"Hmm... it will be ok. I told her parents about you guys and guess what?" she said with a curious look.
"What?"
"Ben, Sarah's father is one of your dad's old classmates,"
What a surprise. With that in mind, I asked Meg to let her parents know that I will visit Sarah this weekend. I was super excited, I am going to see her after a whole week of missing her.

"Yeah Alex, what do you want?" I asked him in an irritated voice.
"We have a meeting with Mr.Edawrd in thirty minutes," he said and looked at me. "Are you ok, dude?"
I just looked at him.
"From uni to now, am I the reason she is hurt so much?" I asked him.
"Hi," he came and gave a hug, "No, Ben, no. You have never hurt her at all. But being like this will hurt her so much,"
