"Was he expecting somebody?" Detective Miller asked, his eyes still fixed on the screen as if he was expecting the screen to come on again by some miracle.
They had been gazing at the screen for a long moment since it went blank, unable to say a word to the other. Dr. Griffin began to punch in some commands into the blank screen before him but nothing happened.
In the end, he gave up and closed the screen. Then, he said with a deep frown on his face, "He turned on the privacy mode," He saw the expression on the detectives' faces, so he explained himself, "Sometimes, people turn on the privacy mode in the cameras here when they don't want to be watched by the security office."
Detective Miller heaved an exasperated sigh, "I see."
He tried to stop himself from cursing under his breath, then he said, "I guess we have to follow the due process from here on."
