Outside, the sun had gotten more reddish as the seconds slipped past. Detective Miller could not help but marvel at the sight his eyes beheld from the outside as he was driven out onto the highway that led to the police station.
Something was not right. Whatever Dr. Griffin and his cohorts were doing, it was interfering with the natural course of things. He felt helpless against the situation. Dr. Griffin was right yet again about something else he said. He was too small to stop them. That was the truth. It was no longer a mere fact.
The thought of an apocalypse coming upon the world while he was somewhere locked away in a police cell, unable to do anything to save his life scared him. It made him wonder about the kind of fate that awaited him once he arrived at the police station.
