Captain Walter was staring blankly at the empty space before her, her mind running a fast race. She had just received a call that had upset her whole day.
Not only did the call make her feel stupid for not knowing what went on in her station, but the caller had also made a very serious threat. She'd weighed her options and it was simply not worth it. So, she had chosen the much easier path.
Now, the only person that stood in the way of what she wanted was Detective Miller and she was about to get him out of the way, no matter what it was going to take.
She jolted in her seat when she heard the sound of a light knock on her door. She knew who it was, of course. She heaved a deep breath and straightened in her seat.
Detective Miller was approaching her desk, his gait strong and his countenance well-set.
"Sit down, Detective," She said and pointed at the seat before her.
