The two men gazed at each other like two elephants who were about to engage in a fierce fight. Detective Miller looked around the office, taking stock. Everything seemed almost the same from when he'd been here last.
Dr. Griffin's eyes wandered through his face, looking searchingly for a hint of what the strange meeting was about.
"What about the other lady?" He asked, after the silence had hung in the air long enough, "Were you not supposed to come with her? Or have you sacked her?" His tone was cynical.
Detective Miller knew that he was referring to Rachel. His mind wandered back to when he had seen Rachel last back at the station. She looked tired and weary with dark circles around her eyes, an obvious sign that she had not had a lot of sleep during the last few hours.
He brought himself back to the present.
"She had to take care of something back at the station."
