In one of the rooms Lin Hao was detained and was being questioned by a police officer about the details of the fight. Well the questions were more about him, like where did he come from, what is his current address? and where was he last few days? and all kind of irrelevant questions that are not related to the earlier fight which made Lin Hao frown as if hinting to something.
{Why are you asking all this questions to me?}
{Don't you know who noble identity, if not for the sensitive circumstances I would have have you known it by now.}
{You'll pee your pants if you know that I am known as the Dragon King outside.}
{If it was any other country I would have razed this police station to the ground.}
When Chu Xuan heard this line he sighed in his heart as he thought,
[What good could a internationally wanted criminal and head of mercenary organization could think of.]
[When the Dragon Palace was build a lot of blood was spilt even some core members....sigh]
[He really did kill a lot of police officers the last time he was arrested.]
[At least he won't dare do anything here for now.]
The name 'Dragon King' was famous in the underworld outside the Xie Kingdom. The Dragon Palace is a big mercenary organization that operates various illegal businesses. Subverting the power of a small nation, assassinating high ranking officials all kind of stuff has been carried out.
Once in a small island nation Lin Hao was captured for carrying live ammunition. He was immediately taken to the police station and locked up. The police officers didn't know his identity nor did they care as they had proper evidence to back up their charge of arresting him. They were just following the rules and laws but who knew it was the first and last ever grave mistake for them.
The mercenary of the Dragon Palace besieged the police station with all kinds of advanced heavy weaponry, even a tank was dispatched by them. The army had to come and take action but the end result was heavy losses of the nation as many from the army personnel died along with many civilians who came across the cross fire.
Lin Hao could easily shake off the pursuit of police officers and easily fled off when he was being arrested but he had to pretend to be powerful and show off his powers. This incident didn't end there as the nation had to bite the bullet and couldn't even retaliate more due to its lack of power. Now our protagonist didn't end it here as he used it to gain momentum and increase his and his organization's fame and instill fear in others.
{Why do I have to be interrogated by such a stinky man why not by a beautiful police flower like Bai Wanshi.}
Just when he thought that Bai Wanshi came in and the police officer saluted as he saw her and for Lin Hao he had his evil smile on which only he could think would look good. On the other hand Bai Wanshi had a red face full of anger which the police officer noticed the dangerous look in her eyes as he trembled, Lin Hao still being ignorant of his impending doom. The whole police station knew once she was angry someone is going to be tortured.
Bai Wanshi was in a really awful mood right now. She had just cleared and signed Chu Xuan's bail papers. She was not angry about that but because she couldn't find anything wrong on Lin Hao. Most his files were redacted that was out of current hers authority level.
Bai Wanshi came from a family of officials. Her parents are high ranking officials in the government who manage foreign relations. From a young age she was instilled with the principles of fairness and justice. She has a heroic aura to her that makes people feel good and secure.
From Chu Xuan's inner voice she was clear this was novel world and he was the villain or so he called himself and Lin Hao was the protagonist. From her point of view Chu Xuan was more qualified to be the protagonist and Lin Hao the villain judging by his deeds. Not that she cared about all this, her only concern was to bring law and order to this city. She detested criminals an even more of those who roamed free due to lack of evidence or their status or any other reasons.
Many heroines also were disgusted Lin Hao for this even without ever meeting or knowing each other as who could like someone who murders people in cold blood like breathing air and wants to oppress whomever goes against him.
Bai Wanshi was the most disgusted and angry as she saw Lin Hao's last murder case of the Blue Wolf gang members. she has seen many murders but that one was the most gruesome one she ever saw in her career. This person was also an internationally wanted criminal at that.
She couldn't just arrest him on the basis of inner voices as she no other proper evidence than that. She could only now torture him and extract the information out so to bring justice and not let this kind of criminals roam freely and wantonly do things they want.
"Yo officer Bai. I have already answered all his questions but I think he didn't ask me the right ones. You should ask me some maybe we can have a nice chat and get to know one another."
Bai totally ignored Lin Hao and looked at her subordinate on the side and said, "Tie him to the pole and bring in my special baton." The officers who heard this shivered as they knew what was going to happen next. The baton she wanted was not a simple police issued one instead a specially crafted long wooden bat with nail spikes on its head. The stick was coated with oil for extra power and effect.
Most hard mouthed criminals when they see it would shiver with fright and spill the beans and others after one or two strikes of it. Bai Wanshi would only do this with high level criminals to open their mouths. She was not gonna start with this as due to lack of substantial evidence and proper reason but after hearing him destroying her police station she became more enraged and decided to vent her anger on him.
Lin Hao could feel danger and malice coming from Bai Wanshi. He didn't knew the reason but knew he needed to leave from here. Bai Wanshi then looked at the double sided mirror as he said, "Ohh and don't forget to turn off the camera."
Lin Hao immediately try to jump from his seat but couldn't as he was locked to the table. He looked at Bai Wanshi and nervously asked, "Officer Bai why tie me up and turn-off the camera. If there is an misunderstanding we can definitely sit and talk, and clear things out like civilized people."
Bai Wanshi ignored him again and what continued after that was a total carnage as only Lin Hao's screams and curses could be heard as he was being beaten into a bloody mess by Bai Wanshi who only stopped when the stick was broken. The other officers who saw and heard this were too terrified after seeing this scene to forget even to breadth. As for the criminals outside who heard such loud screeching screams confessed their crimes themselves as in fear for being implicated to the same nightmare of a torture.
This happened for more than one hour when a police officer came trembling to inform that a high ranking official has come to free Lin Hao. The high ranking official who came was also terrified and disgusted to see the inhuman state in which Lin Hao was. He was immediately sent to the hospital as he lost too much blood and then his conciseness after his arrival.
The protagonist can only be said to be protagonist as he endured to the bitter end without fainting even once. Bai Wanshi was not reprimanded or charged for her behavior as her status as the young lady of Bai family was too big and she was said to rule with an iron fist.
Bai Wanshi was not too happy with the result as she wanted to interrogate him more about his identity and homicide he committed but had to release him because the intervention of higher ups. She also understood that he had someone up the top protecting him so she needed clear evidence in the future to arrest him. She also got to understand that someone from the higher ups got the info that she was investigating Lin Hao, so that person sent someone to free him up.
For her now the best lead to find evidence was Chu Xuan who seemed to know everything. She just had to find a way to make him tell her but first of all think of a way on how to approach him first.
