Leo could already imagine the look on his mother's face when he brought her to their new house.
Even in his wildest imaginations, he never thought they could move to a better house before his brother finished school. He was saving to make sure that his brother didn't have any problems joining university since he was in his third year of high school. Only one year to go.
He looked at Dylan and wondered how he will ever repay him. He swore to himself that whatever happens between them, he will forever remain loyal to this man. It was the least he could do since Dylan had become his Guardian Angel. Their lives changed for the
better from the day he met Dylan.
As Leo was lost in his world, he didn't notice when the normal lights were turned off. When he looked up, he saw neon lights of different colours blinking before him as they alternately changed colours. Then, he saw words appear formed by the bright colourful lights.
*** WILL***|
***YOU ***
***BE***
***MY***
***BOYFRIEND?***
Those were the words the lights were spelling. One after the other in different colours. Leo stood there flabbergasted. His brain couldn't fathom what was happening as he couldn't believe that nature could favour him that much?
"Could it be what I'm thinking?" Leo thought. "Could it be true that Dylan wanted to be with me?" He sat back down and when he did, the neon lights were turned off and he saw Dylan kneeling before him.
"So, what do you say?" Dylan asked with a smile.
Leo was tongue tied as he tried to process what was happening. Could all this be real?
"Are you playing with me?" Leo tearfully asked. He didn't know whether they were tears of joy if this turned out to be true or tears of sorrow if it turned out that Dylan was playing a prank on him. He stood up and started looking around.
"What are you looking for?" Dylan also stood up and followed him.
"The cameras. Where are they? Tell them that they can come out now he said as he continued searching.
Dylan pulled Leo to himself and held his left hand as he lifted his chin with his free hand.
"Listen Leo, I would never joke with my feelings or yours. I fell in love with you from the first moment set my eyes on you. You just don't know what it took for me to hold myself back for all that long. I wanted you to get to know me first before asking you. So, what do you say, will you be my boyfriend? At least let's try dating and see where it takes us," he said in a pleading voice that even if Leo wanted to refuse, he couldnt.
"You are saying that you have been in love with me for three years now? How did I not notice? Are you serious D?" He asked still in disbelief.
"No. Not three years but seven Leo. I've been in love with you for seven years," Dylan said without thinking.
"So, what do you say? Please be my boyfriend?" He asked not wanting to lie to Leo but he would tell him the truth one day. But he couldn't risk it today.
Yes. I will be your boyfriend," Leo said in a small voice. He was still being careful just in case it all turned out to be a prank.
Dylan almost didn't catch what Leo said
but he had heard him well. But he needed confirmation. This was the man he had waited for for years. He needed to hear it again so that h could believe that Leo was finally his.
"What did you say? I didn't quite catch it well. You weren't audible," he asked.
"Errrm...I said... Yes. Yes, I will be your boyfriend, he repeated and this time he had enough courage to look into Dylan's eyes
They held each other's gaze and Leo saw the love he never noticed in Dylan's eyes. He also couldn't believe that Dylan had the same feelings he had for him.
On the other hand, Dylan saw his whole world, in those two brown orbs.
He, they, were home.
